I am a female, 27 yo, married, drinker. I am not much into gambling. I will only be there for two days.

So, ATOT, what do I have to see/do while there?

Thanks in advance

Okay, besides hookers and blow? Anyone have any other suggestions? I am staying at the Stratosphere, and driving my own car there.

Throwing dice.... while doing blow off a hookers ass. That is what Las Vegas is all about.

As much as I love the hookers and blow suggestions. It is probably not likely to happen. For one, blow just isn't my thing. Two, I don't trust hookers.

If you are into clubs, go to Tryst at Wynn and XS at Encore. Being hot will help in getting in.

Shows, any of the Cirque shows (O and Ka my favorites) and La Reve at the Wynn theatre.

Thanks for the suggestions. I know that I am going to see a show at the Palms on Sunday. LTJ Bukem and DJ Conrad, but other than that we don't have anything planned.

Sagalore and I went and saw O while we were there this summer -- it was very good, and I'd see it again. Go see the Bellagio fountains in the evening (sorry if they are still playing Celine Dion with it). Skip Hamada's it really sucks. We ate at Olives one night (~$50 each, same as Hamada's), and it was worth it. If you look online, there are a few websites that make suggestions for free things to do as well. You can go see the flock at The Flamingo, and walk around their gardens which are in the same area as their pools, but the gardens are nice and have some interesting (and gigantic) fish. I heard M&Ms World is great, but we didn't get there. If the weather is crappy, you can go walk around in the shops at Caesar's -- that mall goes on forever it seems and has some unusual places for people to spend their potentially huge winnings. I think the Blue Man Group is still there, you could check them out too. Otherwise, just walking the strip can be interesting because of all the unusual architecture.

For a first timer, walking the strip and checking out the hotels should be fun. Stratosphere is pretty crappy and at the far end of the strip.

Make sure you have some cab or tram money cause you probably won't want to walk back.

Yeah, we went with cheap for the hotel. We don't plan on spending that much time in our room though.

some of the best fine dining in the country available if you're into that.

not so much price though as location. sure you dont want to spend a lot on a place you'll hardly be in but it's a-ways-away to get to the stratosphere and to top it off when you get back after a night of drinking don't you want a comfortable place to rest your head? the first time after i turned 21 i stayed at the stratosphere and the walls were paper-thin, i could hear the people talking/moving in the next room. and the bed had a huge ol' dent in the middle it looks like the couple who had the room before were pile-driving each other on it. look for prices at new york, new york or something; im guessing it'll only be marginally pricier.

I really enjoyed visitng Hoover Dam also. It is not far from Vegas at all, I think it was maybe 30 minute car drive if I remember right. Also, Red Rock Canyon is just west of Vegas. It's a really nice view and worth seeing IMO.

I was just there last month; stayed at New York, New York for only a hair more than the Stratosphere, but the location is a lot better for accessing most of the Strip. Since you're staying at the Stratosphere, I recommend going to the top; the view is spectacular. I didn't do the rides, but apparently the spinny one is pretty cool. Not my thing.

By far the most fun I had was just walking up and down the strip, going into all of the casinos, just checking out the architecture and the unique ways each casino finds to go to excess in basically every conceivable way. Bellagio is good for the indoor garden and you absolutely have to see the fountains. Stay for more than one show; they're frequent, and some of them are significantly better than others. Other than that, you'll find stuff to do basically everywhere. If you can swing tickets to Cirque du Soleil, virtually every casino has their own show going (I've heard good things about O and Zumanity). Treasure Island has a campy show every 90 minutes with pirates and fireworks. But I think the best enjoyment derives from wandering around and trying to take it all in; it's all just so massive and utterly ridiculous.

Oh, if you're interested in going off-strip, you can head North and go to Fremont Street, which is covered by a TV 4 blocks long. Kinda cool. Don't eat over there though; you will die.

Few of my suggestions:
Club Scene - XS or Tao
Lunch - Ballagio Buffet (good but over priced) or Rio Buffet (if you're into seafood buffet)
Dinner - Spago (expensive) in Ceasar Palace or Palazo Hotel has a fine dinning (forgot the name) but its to the right when you walk in from the entrance (the room of the restaurant changes theme with music while you dine). Plenty of dinner places to eat though too long to list.
To do - Since its first time tourist walks the strip, you may check out downtown Vegas as well.
Casino to check out - Wynn, Ballagio, and Palazo is really nice and elegant. For fun try NewYork NewYork, Paris, Ceasar Palace. To gamble I usually go Planet Hollywood for the pleasure pit.

Are you going for business or are you paying to go for pleasure?

If you are going for business stay off the strip.

If you are going for pleasure (paying) ... don't.

I have to fly through the place from time-to-time to get to my final destination. I try to get out of that hell hole as quickly/safely as I can.

this. Use cabs, don't bother driving

we stayed at the stratosphere first time we went, spent most of the time either at the pool or exploring. As has been said, the strato is a bit of a dive by vegas standards

I saw KA, Mystere, Dralion, and Varekai. KA was amazing. My gf saw KA with me and then went to see O another time. she tells me O is WAY better than KA, so based on that I would recommend you to go for O if possible.

Carry plenty of cash. Cabs w/o credit cards piss me off but there's only 1 company that takes CC in LV so you can either wait for that or just go for 99% of the cabs which take cash only. Oh it's expensive too. It cost something like $15 to get from Mandalay Bay to the Wynn. Traffic blows and so they go on highway sometimes. Either way you get stuck in traffic and the fare shoots up.

Pick a few things to do and stick to it. Aquarium @ Mandalay Bay is nice. Forum shops @ Caesars are nice.

BTW about the clubs, Tryst is pretty good but XS is an older crowd to me. I'm Asian as are my friends so we usually hit up TAO because it's a more Asian crowd there. DEFINITELY some hot chicks and I'm sure as a girl you'll find hot guys there. Yeah. JET at Mirage was arite, and I hear LAX is decent at Luxor. I can't comment on the other clubs. I need to go back again.
