Maybe a little with the Pro Perks, it got messy. However, CoD 4 had more standard Perks than its successor (21 vs. 16). More importantly, I felt 4 had more of the asinine Perks. Martyrdom was stupid. Juggernaut was as well. Stopping Power too, though that was in MW2 as well. You also had Perks that let you carry 3 frags or 3 special grenades.
Both were over-the-top bad, but neither could top the terribleness that was Deathstreaks in MW3. Rewards for dying? SURE!
I didn't like the maps in BO nearly as much as the MW games. However, two things made me like them more, above all else. The first was the ability to turn off Aim Assist. I think it's an abhorrent feature as it is, and the fact I could turn it off and still handle people on 360 pleased me. The second, which is the obvious conclusion to draw from above, is that I didn't think its Perks were AS ridiculous. They didn't carry the Juggernaut and Stopping Power ones, though they had some awful stuff as well as you got to BO2 (Millimeter Scanner, Target Finder).
Let's just say that I'm kind of glad to be done with the franchise. Halo 5 replaces it well (though it has some depressingly horrible maps), and DOOM is coming.
