LOL, was that a joke???

No, why would it be? It's not all Dirk's fault. The Warriors first of all, played better basketball than the Mavs, but you can't just say Warriors win b/c Dirk sucks.

I blame Dirk for not being able to set up his teamates when he was double teamed...the greats get double teamed and they still find a way to win. I love Dirk (I'm a Nash fan most of all...yea remember they played together!) but you have got to be kidding if you don't think that loss was mostly Dirk's fault. If Stackhouse didn't make those 3 3's or whatever, the score would have been even more ridiculous. Of course you can't say it's only Dirk's fault, but you're trying to remove blame from Dirk. If he's the MVP he doesn't go 2-13 w/ 2 assists (wow 10 boards...over a much smaller lineup...grats). The day you see Nash or even Kobe go 2-13 w/ 2 assists in an ELIMINATION game is the day pigs fly.

I said it's not ENTIRELY dirk's fault. Of course he has to share the blame, but it's unfair to place the burden squarely on his shoulders.

There are winners, and there are Marinos. Until Dirk gets a ring . . .

As a Dolphins fan that is a BS comment. You can never, EVER, EVER compare a football QB to an NBA team with a superstar. Dirk doesn't show up for big games and makes excuses all day long. Marino always stepped it up when the game was on the line, but he never had a decent running game or defense. One superstar on an NBA team can get you the promised land (Wade last year, MJ, Magic) while on a football team you need a great cast around you to succeed.

The W's had to drop one before finishing them in Oakland... they've won like 75 percent of their last 25 or so games... now the Mavs are finished.

Yet another retarded post from AE. The buck stops here for the Warriors. More like Golden State Pussies.

Just came in to this thread to point out what a fool RagingBITCH is

i mean.. crucial do or die game... 2/13. my god.

He had a forearm or two on him all night.

Blame the rest of his team for not being able to capitalize.

No. You can't blah dirk he's the star should win it. Its like Kobe, it doesn't matter if you pass to the open man and this "pro" clanks a wide open lay up. Its kobe's fault.

seriously, 1st half the game was close, second half the mavs disappeared. I don't get WTF they were doing. Unless Avery told them otherwise, you keep running right at baron. Yet terry would pass out, harris also, then settled for jump shots.

Its such a bad way for dirk to go out. He didn't choose to be MVP of the regular season but he's gonna be stuck with all this criticism for how bad game 6 was years to come until he can win a title.

I don't hear people blaming Kobe for the Lakers loss. For good reason because Kobe is carrying the team. Regardless whether his team win or lose, Kobe puts up his numbers. His supporting crew are much worst than Dirk's.

Dirk, in the most crucial game, was not his usual self. I don't see hussle. I don't see drive to the basket. I don't see much effort to get open. The intensity was completely nonexistant in him. It's really hard not to accept people's claim that he is the biggest choke in NBA. The Mavs is a championship caliber team because of him. If he drops off, of course they're going to lose.

Certainly not--I was thinking 'oh ******' when the playoff seedings were set. Don Nelson has the Mavs number!

Golden State is a one-hit wonder though. I will bet a GS Warriors fan $100 that the Warriors will not make the finals. There is no way anyone can beat the Suns this year!

This was simply one of the most enjoyable playoff series I have ever watched. I don't know if I've ever watched a team play with so much energy and emotion as the Warriors. I can't imagine how fun that stadium was last night.

These guys are like the Suns...but with a fearless ferocity that the Suns lack. They simply outhussled and outmuscled Dallas. I just question how much they have left in the tank after these last 6 games.

If they matchup to Houston, they have a chance of advancing. If they play Utah, I don't think they'll have the same opportunity. Houston is much more of a setup half court system dishing down to Yao. With the style that GS plays they'll simply outrun the big man and render him useless. Then they just annoy TMac like they did Dirk and hopefully shut him down.

Utah can run better than Houston and has more hustle players. They'll prove to be the harder matchup.

I said it in another thread...it doesn't matter who wins in the west. As fans we all win watching these games.

The mavericks looked just like they did in the last 4 games of the finals last year. I don't think they've emotionally recovered from that and as a result did not put up the usual fight we see from them in adversity.

I don't think the pistons, suns, or spurs look as good as they should. The spurs' physical demeanor in their series was pretty disturbing - almost like they wanted denver to bow down and give up instead of having to earn it. The pistons looked good in round 1 but I won't be convinced they are back to full form until the 3rd or 4th game of round 2. The suns looked ok but I'm unsure whether they are consistent enough.

I have a feeling the champion is going to be a bit of a surprise/upset.

Edit: though probably not the warriors because davis is beat up possibly too much at this point.

I think the Spurs can. I think I'd favor the Suns, but the Spurs have probably played the best since the all star break. I don't see how the Warriors could beat either team, unless Jackson goes 7/8 from 3 every night.

it'll be a fun series to watch but even this was said int he preview for tomorrow's game:

===============

Although the Warriors had great success doing that against the Mavs this season, Johnson is quick to note there were extenuating circumstances every time. Even Nelson says "there should be an asterisk next to" those games.

Golden State deserves credit for the first one, but it has to be thrown out when analyzing this series because Mike Dunleavy Jr. and Troy Murphy were in the Warriors' rotation. They were traded months ago.

The second one came the night after Dallas won its 17th straight game. The Mavs were so vulnerable that "a Saginaw, Mich., high school team could have beaten them that night," Nelson said.

The third one was earlier this week, a game most of Dallas' best players sat out.

Excuses are lame. "We won our 17th game, so we were due for a loss, that's why they won!"

Dumb excuse.

Wade was right....Dirk is not a leader. He is not the MVP type that can take over a crucial game like last night. He's a great regular season player and that's it. He has not heart...no fire when it counts. Guys like Jordan, Majic, Wade (last year) rise up to the occassion when it's crunch time. Dirk just looks lost....

Props to the Warriors...they got hot at the end of the year and continued throughout the first round....Davis and Jackson are monsters...wow...talk about stepping it up when it counts.

Good luck to the Warriors in round 2.

Honestly, IF the warriors get out of round two I think they match the Suns style of play amazingly well. Both push the ball, both take a lot of threes. I dont see the suns blowing them out of the watter....I'd see the Spurs having a much better chance of manhandling the Warriors.
