Started using mine tonight. Physically, very near perfect. Visually, far from. Biggest flaw on mine is the extremely washed out quality. Turning brightness to 0 is just enough to make the image barely acceptable. With careful inspection, there is also slight yellow discoloration that exists in the right hand edge (tweaking the screen->landing setting helped with this a bit in the corners.) The default color settings left the image very green as well, so I had to drop the 2 green sliders about 15%.

On a positive note, the screen looks surprisingly as flat as my Samsung 955df, and the image is crisp.

All in all, if you're a stickler on visual quality, you'll likely return it. Luckily, I'm not a stickler, so I'm not too disappointed. If you haven't gotten yours yet, use this bit of "logic" to comfort yourself in the meantime: if all the bads ones have already been taken, then I'm SURE to get a good one.

I got mine today too. Fortunately, I don't have any of the problems others are describing. It came in like new condition and convergence, color and geometry is perfect. The sharpness is a big improvement over the Hitachi SuperScan Elite 802 I had before. Awesome deal (for some, including me).

yeah, you're better off giving them a call. i called around 11am pst and it was about a 20 minute wait, so you might wanna try calling earlier.

20 minutes after they picked up or 20 minutes just waiting for them to pick up?!? Damn, I'm gonna have to post on reseller ratings soon.

the tech support number is on the invoice (760-726-7759), if all the CSR's are tied up you get an automated message to hold for he next available rep. as for reseller ratings, hold off on that until they really do something to deserve it......like sending you another fvcked up monitor. if they send me another fvcked up monitor, i'm not even going to deal with it, i'll be contacting my credit card company.

Got my monitor yesterday and spent the evening evaluating it. Seems to be working quite well, and I'm very impressed with it. The monitor looked new when I got the plastic off.

I didn't recieve any kind of driver cd (not that I expected to need one...), but my max resolution seems to be limited to 1600x1200. Shouldn't this monitor be able to go a little higher?

Called their Tech Support yesterday and told them the monitor they sent me was defective. Asked if they were gonna send me a shipping label and the csr said we don't do that. I sighed and kept silent for a bit and then the csr checked when I ordered the monitor and then decided that he would send me a shipping label. Their service isn't that bad I guess even though they wouldn't have given me the shipping label if I hadn't asked for it. Hopefully, this replacement process doesn't take too long.

I had the same problem as you with a washed out look. I was able to fix it by, depending on what kind of video card you have, mines nvidia based, went to nView in control panel, display, advanced area and went to color correction and changed the default digital vibrance. If you dont have nvidia graphics card im sure theres something to that effect in the advanced area.

Like the others, the color brightness/contrast needed to be adjusted using the graphic card controls. Otherwise it's quite good. Did anybody else not get a DVI cable? I only received a VGA cable, which wasn't good for 1600x1200.

Have you guys found a place which would sell a compatible DVI cable for a good price? There are so many different types of DVI cable that I am getting rather confused.

sleefer,

I just wanted to thank you for the great deal.

It is in new condition at least as far as I can tell!
I'm surprised the tube wasn't busted. It was shipped with the glass down with only about an inch of foam protecting it!

THANK YOU!

Would anyone with the DVI connection care to comment the difference in picture quality between the DVI-A and the VGA connection. Is the DVI cable worth getting if you did not initially receive one?

Hmmm. I guess it only took about 1 hour for the item to be sold out from the initial post and the last sucessful buyer's post...

Sleefer, many thanks. Finally received mine across the country from FedEx Ground.
Monitor looks new cosmetically and visually looks perfect, at least to me. Should help
on the eyestrain for the many hours spent in front of this thing.

I had the monitor shipped back to them and yesterday I recieved an email saying they would refund my money since they did not have a replacement for me. I replied asking how much they were going to refund me $128.25. At this point I am pretty mad since I basically paid $40 to have a faulty monitor shipped to me. I've emailed them back saying that I feel this is unreasonable. Any suggestions?

Yes: don't let it happen. If you paid by credit card, you've got recourse. After all, you paid in good faith.
No reason why you should pay that much (or any) money just to ship their mistake. You really don't
need them to agree with you, since you can just dispute the charge with the CC company. It would be
nice to resolve it amicably, but if not...not your obligation to eat that cost. If at all possible, try to find a
way to get another one, since this seems a great deal. Otherwise, get ALL your money back and
consider the time/effort wasted and the disappointment your only loss.

Just got an email saying they will give me a full refund including my shipping. Still, I've gone through so much hassle just getting my return label and refund so I don't think I'll be buying from them again.
