Goo Gone good

Anyone out there know a comparable product to Goo Gone without the headache since I have to use the stuff for hours on end? Goof Off does not work for me because I am cleaning labels off the plastic cases of computers. Goof Off eats right through the plastic while Goo Gone does not.

Looks like the 3M product professes to be odorless.

Or, are you just looking for a cheaper alternative?

Try Acetone, it removes the residue without melting the plastic.
I use it exclusively for cleaning plastics on cases, monitors, & laptop cases.

I always prefered goof off because its so much stronger. You just have to be careful while using it.

And at my job, we use alcohol and razers to get labels off.

As DV says, Methyl Ethyl Ketone is fun. Plus, it's fun to say.

If you really want to have fun, try to buy 10 or more gallons of Toluene at once.....

You people suggesting acetone and especially MEK are insane.

MEK is dangerous shit. Don't use it unless absolutely necessary.

And I can guarantee that if Goof Off melts the plastic, both of the above will turn it into a puddle of goo.

Acetone will eat the hell out of plastic. Just ask my old boss who tried to clean his very expensive (at the time) multi line telephone. The acetone meted the plastic so badly it was rendered useless.

I always use wd-40 to remove labels and leftover stickyness. After wd-40 use simple green or any other cleaner that removes oil and you're set.
