I'm looking for an inexpensive 19" but nothign too cheap. like the $200 range. I like samsungs Dynaflat but the 955df got bad reviews on cNet. I haven't heard many good things about NEC monitors though.
Anyone have any monitor advice? Best buy sucks now, they only have like 2 cheap crts, and then tons of $600 LCD's.
Is it worth it spending more money (like $250 rather than $190) for a good 19"?

Good sites I've found so far...

I own the NEC Accusync 90(AS90). It's been a great monitor for me. It guess it really depends on what you want to use it for. If you're talking graphics work and such, it won't cut it.
If you're just going to be playing games, surfing the web, etc....then it should be a good cheap monitor that will do what you want. I got one online a couple of years back when
egghead had free shipping. I would say that your best bet would be to check one out in the store and see if you like it. It's a .26 dot pitch so it's not the best and yet not the worst.
If you can deal with it being a good all-around monitor without having super high refreshes at high resolutions (76hz max at 1600x1200) and the dot pitch being average then I think you'll
be happy with it.

I guess that dot pitch would be more important if you were into CAD and web work. The only main limitation to the 955df seems to be the low refresh rates at higher resolutions. I personally like at least 85hz so that would make the highest useable resolution 1024x768. I can handle 1600x1200 at 76hz but that's usually in games and I don't notice it that much in those games due to being involved in the game. What are you going to use this monitor for?

Thanks!
I 'm going to go with the FE990, seems like a good buy at dell. $225 with free shipping...
I like that has good reviews everywhere, and they all say its good price/performace at $250 and I'm getting it for $25 less.

I have the 955, and its only so-so. It's awesome near the center, but the convergence gets worse as you get further out(and I've tried calibrating the hell out of it). I also get flickers on the right edge of the screen every so often. My buddies who sold this model at Best Buy says that its fairly common for the refresh on partof the screen to be lower than the center of the screen. On the upside, it is a very cheap 19 inch and is generally good enough for everything I do.

My new 955DF ($183.25 at Dell with free shipping) is sharp and clear from edge to edge.
