I'm looking for a 4 port kvm switch that will give me no problems with my logitech mouse
i've heard that some people have issues with kvm switches not allowing them to use all their mouse buttons after swithcing between the different computers too much
also i heard some don't work unless it is set to the comp you boot with
also some people have said there are some that actually have an effect on their gaming due to response time

anyone know a good 4 port kvm switch that won't give me any of these problems ?

I've had the Belkin 4 port PS2 with audio, worked fine with logitech marble trackball and logitech mouse with extra buttons, it did have problems with MX Dou though... I think the problem was that when switching from system to system, the controller/charger thinks that the PS2 port for the mouse is disconnected, so it starts using the USB port (made so the one USB port will send signals for both mouse and kb, if it's the only plug into...say a laptop). It would work fine with 1 system, but if I switched, the mouse would stop working. I picked up a IOGear Miniview 3, USB KVM with extra 2 USB ports assignable to system seperate from the KB and mouse. Everything on this works fine, except....the media keys on the keyboard does not work. The KVM uses some kind of emulation on the USB ports that are supposed to have the mouse and/or KB connected to it, and from IOGear, it seems that every USB device including keyboard and mouse have a ID number that identifies model number and driver needed. Said ID number is copyrighted or proprietary and cannot be used without permission from manufacturer. So....OS recognizes a generic keyboard. Strangely enough, my MX mouse works fine, all the extra buttons. Keeping it for now, might try a diferent keyboard.

Love my IOGear

Link

Careful which model you order, mine came with 4, 6' cables. If I remember correctly, when I ordered, another model number came with 2, 4' cables and 2, 6' cables.

I have a USB mouse, and used the standard USB to PS/2 adapter and it works like a charm, even though the instructions say it won't unless you buy one of IOGear's adapters...
