I have heard good things about the ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro and at $27 + S&H it pretty much fits in your budget. There are many other HSFs in this price range, but make sure you read some reviews first since some of them are no better than the stock cooler. This one was tested by anandtech recently and showed excellent performance for its price. You should be able to get a respectable overclock with it.

Errr, "tight" and "budget" in the same sentence make me think stock cooler! Seriously, it's a reasonably good heatsink and (usually) very quiet. Sometimes though, it's just not enough.

Arctic Freezer 7 Pro or a Zerotherm model in the same relative price range. Hell, the Zerotherm Nirvana is only $40AR at the Egg. Can't go wrong there. Need the $9, try the BFT90 for $31AR.

I am going to 1 up that with his bigger brother KINGWIN Revolution RVT-12025 - $24!

At either of these price points, there is not one cooler that can outperform either of these Can't go wrong.

Neit! the HDT have exposed heatpipes in the base, the RVT do not. There is a 120mm HDT but, it's currently not on sale and is about $40.

No, I am afraid you are mistaken - Picture

Xigmatek just started selling their CPU coolers through Kingwin when they initially entered the North American market. Now they sell under their own brand. But that Kingwin and the 120mm Xigmatek are identical in all respects, other than the box and the sticker on the fan.

Sorry, Kingwin RVT have the exposed heaptipes Xigmatek RVT do not where as the HDT do, easy mistake. Why must they use the same monikers to mean different things on the same heatsink under different brand names?

If you can fit it in your case, you're not going to beat this cooler. Frostytech now rates it as the #1 775 heatsink available. Every other site reviewing it has given it similar high ratings. The only difference between the Xigmatek and the rebranded Kingwin going for $24 is the fan. For $24 you are getting something almost as good as the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme.

The top-down version isn't bad either, if you want another option.

Until more reviews come out I will not call it as beating the TRUE120 in pure performance simply because of the fan used during their TRUE120 testing. There is not a single other review site calling the original TRU120 better than the TRUE120 and that alone says something. I think that if they could either pick a uniform fan to use on all heatsinks or atleast on ones that do not come with them that has adequate flow with enough static pressure the TRUE woudl still be ahead.
