Good Android phones WITHOUT micro-USB charger/connector?

I made another thread where my S5, now my S6, continuously has problems charging on micro-USB cables. I switch out cables, and sometimes it helps for awhile, but not for long. Can't keep the darned thing charged.

So I'm about to give up on micro-USB connections/chargers. But I really like the Android system. Are there any good phones that don't use the micro-USB connections/chargers but are android based?

Thanks!

You could buy a wireless charging pad for your s6. Or I guess, an lg g5 and charge the removable battery separately with a battery charger. Edit: or a lg g4.

Some Android phones are starting to adopt USB-C, so that may be your savior. The Galaxy Note 7 that was just announced is using it, but I think that's the first Samsung phone to use it.

I would say that this is a problem with the connector on your phone. This usually falls under warranty, and I have had it repaired few years back on my Nexus 7 2012.

Its not the charger or the USB size/standard thats the problem, as above poster mentioned its likely the connector on your phone, the ribbon to the charging port sometimes becomes loose, or the port itself has bent pins or shorted out internally. This is a very common problem and very easy to fix. You can do it yourself or go to a electronics repair place and pay them $20 to fix it.

Try taking a toothpick and running it around the connector on the phone. You wouldn't think it would happen but the connector picks up tiny little amounts of lint from your pockets, etc., that build up over time making the connection unstable. You'll know if this is the problem if you don't feel that slight "click" when connecting it.

This is the best features for mobile devices. Only some mobile devices apply this features, but my personal experience long time require for a recharge devices.

I am pretty sure, the new nexus phones are going to have USB-C. Good thing about USB-C, no annoying 'got the cable reversed', will go in any way.

I would have upgraded to the samsung S7 but like my S6, it has the same micro usb connector. I don't hardly ever use the connector, as I have two wireless stations and I recommend you get one as well. Once you go wireless ... You'll never go back!

I'm hoping my next phone will be a Nexus. It better have USB-C and wirless charging or else I'll probably keep my S6 for another year. I am looking forward to see the new google phones.

I know this isn't answering your question about other phones, however, unless you're talking about a brand new phone with USB C or wireless charging, they all use micro-usb. (Even Sony phones! I can't believe they don't use a proprietary charger!)

If you haven't, download "Galaxy Charging Current" to see if it might be a bad cable, charger, or outlet. I couldn't believe the variance between cables and chargers. Some chargers and/or cables, which I thought were fairly high quality, were absolute crap. Other, such as some bundled into $10 pre-paid phones, were fairly impressive. I bought a bunch of LG Hydros years ago. The bundled cables and chargers were fairly high quality for the day. Pretty much worth the whole package at that price.

Like others have said, check to see if the charging pin in the phone is bent or dirty. That is an easy fix.

I had also bought a magnetic micro-usb cable. You can plug the magnetic plug into the phone and leave it there. I was able to get a maximum charge speed with the one I bought.

I have no idea if this one is any good, but here is an example.

Wireless charging is nice. I've never used it before now, with my new Note 7. (I had a magnetic car dock I was unwilling to part with) But, I've conformed.
