It's dumb and I don't know why anyone would make fun of someone for liking fried chicken because it's fucking delicious.

Yes, I've never seen this as a negative stereotype. It's simply a stereotype. Fried Chicken, Watermelon, black-eyed peas--all are fricking delicious.

Not always. Purple drank & kool aide are stereotypes that are based on reality. Chicken and Watermelon are more based on racist imagery and 19th century caricatures of blacks. Bringing up that stereotype evokes that racist iconography:

It's "good" but for the price I'll go once a year.

Gotta love my alma mater.

When I was there, my fraternity had a Rush advertising theme that had the evolution man drawing/picture (see below), with the final man depicted wearing our letters.

We got crap from the Christian Student Union for promoting evolution and from the BSU because they claimed the third from the last man looked like a black man and alleged that we were saying that black men are below white men on the evolutionary scale.

Add in the Muslim Student Union incident from last year, and you have some great advertising for UCI.
