Good book to relearn Trig

I've taken trig and precalc back in high school, but that was 10 years ago and I remember very little to nothing about it. I want to refresh myself on trig with the ultimate goal of learning calculus. This is just a purely personal en devour to get the gears in my head working again (I felt much smarter my senior year of high school than I do now ).

I already have a TI-89 and a pencil, so now I just need a book. I want comprehensive, not just the basics of trig. I know lots of you are in college and have taken or are taking it at the moment, so just looking for ideas. Preferably something a human can understand and without many errors in the text (I won't have a teacher to tell me that the answer in the back is wrong).

Neat. I think that would make a good compliment but I think I really need a book I can use too. I don't want to be tied to a computer the whole time.

You barely need to know any trig to do Calculus.

Buy some old textbooks on the cheap. The old textbooks are generally better than the new ones anyway in clarity and since they come out with newer versions all the time the old ones should be cheap.

I figure the trig will get my brain going again before I attempt to tackle Calculus. It will be something I've done before, albeit a while back.

I've carried around a little orange pocket carpenters guide for years. It has pictures to illustrate trig forms, equations and tables. I think your best bet is to check out various trig text books to find one that makes sense for you. I've done that for all my math courses regardless of the assigned textbook.

How much trig do you really need know to read an identity sheet?

Make sure your fractions, simplification, and graphing are flawless. What makes calc hard is not really the calc but all the pre-reqs you are expected to be 'fluent' in.

Pay attention to stuff like graphing simple polynomials/binomials, factoring, solving for x intercepts, etc, you must be able to do like the back of your hand.

Besides khanacademy, I'd also recommend purplemath.com . It's mostly algebra but it also has trig lessons.

Good point. Maybe what I should really do is get a good Algebra book first.
