Good Business Laptop

Looking for a good business laptop with a good quality screen, in the 16" range. Would like to have the vertical resolution be above 900 pixels (too many 768 systems! ugh!), because of extensive use of web-based apps. Also, prefer to have windows 7 pro, although I guess I could upgrade from home.

Alternatively, any smaller laptops with two video ports on the laptop? I would actually prefer a smaller laptop, and overlook a low resolution, if it came with two ports. Then I'd use it on the desk with the higher res monitors, but get the low weight benefit when mobile. Guess it has to have a capable video subsystem though.

Thanks.

It's not a "business laptop," but once again I have to recommend the Envy 14. It's a 14.5" with a 1600x900 screen (upgrade from the 1366x768 screen, trust me) and an aluminum chassis. Best of all, it comes with an eSATA / USB combo port AND mini DisplayPort / HDMI for your video-out needs. It does weigh in at about 5 lbs, but it's very practical to carry around in my experiences.

Lenovo ThinkPad or Dell Latitudes.

You won't find a business class notebook in 16".... You can have 12, 13,14, or 15... or 17" if you buy a professional $$$$ workstation equivalent.

Sony's F series should work - 16.4" and comes 1600x900 standard and the upgrade to 1920x1080 is only $100.

They'll charge $50 more for Win 7 Pro, but if you do that you can also tell them not to install the extra bloatware they'll install if you go with Home Premium.

Would set you back $1200 with the screen/win7 upgrades, making it cheaper than the Envy 14 with its screen upgrade that CurseTheSky mentioned, albeit less portable.

The Dell Latitude business laptops (ie: D430/D630/D830/E4300/E6400/E6500/E6410/E6510/E4310) support dual external monitor through their respective proprietary docking stations. Up to dual 2560x1600 with the E-series, and up to dual 1920x1200 with the D-Series. E-Series will give you Displayport and DVI support; just DVI and VGA with the D-series.

This will satisfy your dual monitor issue. I personally use a D830 with a WUXGA (1920x1200) display on the laptop itself, and an external WUXGA display, simultaneously. Having the matched screens is very nice because I can drag a window and don't have to resize anything to fit on the external LCD versus the laptop's screen.

ThinkPads will do dual external monitor without a dock... They have display port and VGA outputs on the laptop itself, and there is an optional Display Port to DVI adapter available.

I'd be surprised if the Dell and HP business lines also didn't offer that... THough it will/can vary by model series.
