Then apparently you haven't seen the video of the Capitol police cop directing these traitors into the grounds and buildings. There are also a number of police departments across the country that are investigating members of their force that entered the Capital Building, not to mention active duty officers in the US ARMY.
Sadly, at least in this country, law enforcement and the military seem to draw in these types. Likely the power without having to answer to authority is part of it. To be fair, these are the minority, but still too prevalent.
Oh how I agree with you on this... my fear is that few in power have the courage to do so. This "forgive and forget" bullshit starting with the parents of many of these thugs when they were kids has destroyed the resolve to hold people accountable, vs. "you'all play nice ya'hear" (forgive my southern sarcasm).
Given human nature, I'm sure you experienced the school bully, guessing it's pretty much a global thing. Would torment you relentlessly, until you busted his fucking nose then he left you alone, or even wanted to be friends. Of course that was before social media bullying, when you could actually bust him in the nose.
