Nobody was going to take any hostages you fucktard. There were antifa members caught on facial recognition cameras breaking into the chamber. Trump supporters the only ones who went inside were taking pictures. This is what happens when you steal an election and leave no recourse after going through every court system. The truth will come out soon . Biden will never be POTUS.

oh god what a bitch.

If you entered that building after witnessing these criminals breaking down barriers, fighting with cops, smashing windows to get in for a fucking selfie, you are a fucking criminal, or too fucking stupid to breath on your own.

Stop enabling them by making fucking excuses.
Those guys who allegedly didn't commit crimes need to start singing to the cops about who did (give names, addresses, phone numbers). Otherwise they will go down as accomplices.

and I thought Brandon BS had a warped partisan mind. Good riddance newly created alt account.
I mean it is hard to even accept someone would believe this. The MAGA folks were the ones taking innocent selfies and the criminal acts were all Antifa plants.
Can any person truly believe this?

It's precisely what some were claiming, including sitting senators, talking heads on Faux, etc.

I think entering the building is a crime. Hell I can't go into any Federal Building in my town without going through security, metal detectors, and having a valid reason to enter. Can't even take a camera or cell phone into the Federal Courthouse here.

I've been thinking this the entire time. I live in small town hillbillyville usa and after 9/11 our federal building had concrete barriers installed around the building. There are at least 2 security guards and you have to get by them and the metal detector to get to the federal part of the building. Anybody with 2 brain cells knows you don't fuck around on federal property without facing severe consequences which may include getting yourself shot. You also don't bring weapons of any kind in that part of the building. You would also be an idiot if you tried that shit at the city and county buildings.

You don't fuck around with any Federal LEO's. The Blue Ridge Parkway, which is Federal, runs just on the outskirts of where I live. There is even a "commuter" section that people often use. Of course it's a nice curvy road without a lot of traffic at times, so tempting for letting it out a bit, and the maximum speed limit anywhere is 45.

DON'T! It is a "federal rap", and a friend ended up paying over $5,500 in fines. He was 10 - 15 over, plus he got off where he intended to anyway to go home. The park ranger also hit him with "attempting to elude".

Well they pretty much just walked though the main entrance without any opposition. Yeah they shouldn't have been there but that's the whole point of protest.

I get that lots of you are (justifiably) furious about things but what do you want?
That people trespassing should be locked up for excessive periods?
That loud protests should be illegal?
That you have to criminalise nearly half of your population?

You have a chance here to isolate the extremists on the right. If you lump them all in together then how are you going to deal with the repercussions of that?
You want to make those actions outside the norm, you dont want to push the narrative that thats how all the right is. If you do that its not going to go well.

The only "federally controlled" building that I know that anyone "can just walk into" are USPS offices. Give it a try at any federal building or federal courthouse around the country.

Peaceful protests are done in public areas that anyone can normally enter, or even private property with permission. Volume doesn't matter, they are going to be loud, that's the point, and that is not the 'illegal' part.

The video I've seen pretty much shows the police retreating from the barriers and surrendering the main doors.

My point is that lots of protests are illegal, the last thing you want is that everyone involved in a protest gets charged at the level of the highest crime committed.

You, as a country, have to come back from this. You are not going to do it by leaving the extreme right as the leaders of the mainstream right.
Those crazy arseholes want nothing more than for you all to draw the line between the sides of this down the middle. You are going to have to reach out to and rescue those that are salvageable from the wreckage of this.

Then apparently you haven't seen the video of the Capitol police cop directing these traitors into the grounds and buildings. There are also a number of police departments across the country that are investigating members of their force that entered the Capital Building, not to mention active duty officers in the US ARMY.

Sadly, at least in this country, law enforcement and the military seem to draw in these types. Likely the power without having to answer to authority is part of it. To be fair, these are the minority, but still too prevalent.

Oh how I agree with you on this... my fear is that few in power have the courage to do so. This "forgive and forget" bullshit starting with the parents of many of these thugs when they were kids has destroyed the resolve to hold people accountable, vs. "you'all play nice ya'hear" (forgive my southern sarcasm).

Given human nature, I'm sure you experienced the school bully, guessing it's pretty much a global thing. Would torment you relentlessly, until you busted his fucking nose then he left you alone, or even wanted to be friends. Of course that was before social media bullying, when you could actually bust him in the nose.

I've absolutely seen those videos. That was my point. If you get basically waved into the building should you be punished as much as the guys that beat their way in? Those clowns were useful idiots for the more extreme element. You need to pull those back to the centre and to normal society not push them further to the fringes.

To continue that analogy, you only need to break the bully. You dont need to beat everyone that associated with him. When you do that you are just perpetuating the issue, just with a different bully.

Yes! He used his followers or posse to be his muscle, but once the bully's nose was bloodied, they vanished very quickly. Some are only smart enough to be followers.

We can show them what true oppression through the judicial system is like. If a woman can spend 12 years in prison for selling $20 worth of weed, trespassing on federal property ought to be worth 50 years.

I dont think that will actually work, but im a scientist and im inclined to try.

😜

This is my argument! Bring the hammer down hard and fast on the actual hardcore of this, the idiots that just followed along will soon fade away.
Its something that should have been done decades ago.
Things like the Bundy stand off should have been crushed. The proud boys and their ilk should have been followed and shut down.
Right wing extremists have been allowed to flourish with no real oversight from police or media.

Completely disagree. Any true Americans whose stomachs haven't been turned by seeing a mob descending of the capitol specifically to thwart the wheels of democracy needs to read some history. None of this is acceptable period. Maybe you know who this guy is, but, he's completely right.
Arnold Schwarzenegger compares Capitol attack to Kristallnacht in viral video - CNET
That's a good video, but I think it was really closer The Enabling Act vote.

I believe @WelshBloke is from the UK, so he might not get the true sense of outrage this should cause in the US.

Are you trying to ask us how she fell backwards?

All I have is the videos I have seen. Probably same info you have. She appeared lifeless on the ground, seconds after shot. My guess from that limited source is that the bullet may have struck her spine on the way out, and or the shockwave of impact shredded at least some of her cerebellum and or brain stem. From the limited info the video provides, she appeared "gone" the moment the bullet struck.

The impact would probably knock someone down. As she was climbing up at the time, it wouldn't take much to "kick" her back to the floor - as appeared to happen in the video. OTOH, having your brain severed from your body would also cause you to collapse. For, hopefully, obvious reasons.

Your comment of "please don't act stupid" appears to be a self portrait. If you watched enough of the video to ask your question, the answers I have provided should be self evident. The asking seems a bit morbid, if not carrying some other agenda. I do wonder why you asked?

What agenda would I have? She was capped justifiably, but I thought she would fall forward if brain stem was severed. So I guess she felt the impact, then in milliseconds thought, fuuuuuck, something hit me, and tried to retreat backwards but it was too late as the oxygen levels in her brain started dropping rapidly into complete blackout.

But whatever, she chose her path. She made her peace, nothing more to discuss.

I feel bad that Trump suckered these suckers into doing this for him while his fatass was in the Whitehouse eating cheese berders and grinning watching cable news.

I think the problem is is that there seem to be two broad groups in the "protest".
There were the fucking idiots that had no plan, wondered around taking selfies, chanting, stealing podiums and taking a crap on the floor.
And there was the other, smaller group that turned up willing to commit extreme violence and very much had a plan.
The former could probably be sorted with a minor sentence and are probably crapping their pants at the media putting their photos (that they put on social media) out there.
The latter should be locked up for a long time.
how do you tell the difference after they entered the capitol? treat them the same and give similar sentences.

Serious question. When the officer called her bluff because she tried to gamble, and then unfortunately lost, why did she jump back from the window she was trying to climb through?

When he fired a slug into her corpse, did she jump back because of the bullet that went into her or because it was a knee jerk type situation where she was in shock that she actually got fired upon? Like when someone surprised you and you jerk back in surprise.
you don`t know what you are talking about! Nobody fired a slug into her corpse~@!

Trump is really a little wimp. He gives these people orders then runs back into his Whitehouse. I'd love to see trump cowering behind his oval office desk while a group of thugs are pounding at his door. Trump would piss his pants.

I get that their cause was batshit but public protest isn't a problem.
Waving flags and cganting is fine. I'd give a pass at peacefully occupying government buildings and having sit ins as well.

Beating people to death and searching for public figures to capture and do who knows what are way, way over the line.
once they smashed windows to gain entry they gave up any pretense of peaceful protest.

Let's really stop spreading the BS about large groups of capitol police letting protesters in. Full videos clearly show they had been over run and trying to retreat.

@WelshBloke tell me, how these people should be let off because they were just doing a sit in, while hundreds watched the murder of a police officer in clear view from the step. (In the full video you can hear people on the steps cheering for his beating) No one accidently entered that building not knowing violence occurred to gain entry.
