The experience I and my sister had with our mother was that it was in our (including my mother) best interest to take an active role in insuring that she got that exercise, not to simply trust that it would happen. We did that.trust me, she will be walking ASAP. That is how it works for OHS. As soon as she is able to stand, they will have her taking steps every day after that.

I'm so sorry for your loss.
My mother also passed away at 65. She was sick for about 5 years (auto immune) and on one night she lost consciousness. She was rushed to the hosiptal and died a few hours later from septic shock. I try to not take things for granted anymore. This was 10 years ago. Insane how time flies. My dad is still alive and is about 76 years old. I know that his time is limited so I try to call him 1-2x a week. Anyway, I'm so sorry. Our parents work so hard to give us a lot. They ask nothing in return but our love, and the hope that we can be happy doing work that we care about.
In an odd way its good to be reminded that we are on a time-limited run here on this earth.
Easy to become complacent assuming there will always be another "tomorrow" to realize our dreams when eventually there won't be.
We're all 1 heartbeat away ... don't dwell on it but never forget it!
