Good & Cheap Beer Suggestions?

Boulevard Wheat 20 pack's sell for 17.99 at some places around here. It's not available every where in the country, but it's the best value for a great beer that I know of.

Been drinking Old Style and picked up a 12-pack for 6.99 USD. Not bad at all! I do treat myself with some good craft beers once in a while though.

Unlike the rest of the entire world, I prefer lagers and still don't like IPA's so you can just completely ignore my suggestion if you wish.

Prob b/c they're bottled overseas. Various temperature changes along the way, along with the green bottle, prob all attributes to the skunkyness. I've noticed the same thing with Hein but as of late, they've improved time to market and now stamp the bottled date on it. Stella generally speaking has almost a skunky hint to it, fresh or not. Not enough to detract from drinking it though.

Yuengling is one of the most overrated beers IMO. Folks in PA and VA go nuts for the stuff and I can't figure out why. It always tastes like dish soap to me.

Molson XXX don't think it's too expensive. Flying Dog has some high % beers, didn't seem crazy $$$. I currently like Third Shift Amber Lager.

Stone Imperial Stout, about $8 for a 22oz. Great bang for the buck with taste/abv

I want to try this beer after watching reviews. Looks delicious.

pabst/olympia/hamms--really can't beat the price for just drinking a bunch of beers.

I prefer imports that average $6-$9 a 6 pack. All good stuff in this range. Lagers/IPA's/ales.

Yuengling isn't mean to be a snob beer. It's just beer, and pretty darn good beer for the money.

I've had Yuengling and it's not bad as far as American beers go. Certainly better than pisswasser like Rolling Rock.

Molson Canadian is a classic cheap, crappy beer. Only frat boys seem to like it here in its home country. Same goes for Labatt Blue. It's one of those things you get if the bar has nothing else on tap.

I assumed the OP was in america, and so was comparing Molson to truly awful "beer" such as Milwaukee's Best, Budweiser (any variety), and miller light. At least Molson has some flavor.

Put another way - crappy canadian beer >>>>>> awful cheap american beer.

If you like newcastle, you would probably like Tuckerman's Headwall Alt. Tried the Sam Smith line yet? Their oatmeal stout is heavenly.

Somehow I don't associate about $26 per the equivalent of a 6pk with cheap beer.

That is not terrible for a bomber of a good imperial stout. Many of them go for 12 or 13 a bottle.


That said, founders breakfast stout often you can get a 4 pack of 12oz bottles for about $11 (if you can find it). I bought a case of 24 bottles of Founders Breakfast stout yesterday. It ran me about $60,

I say queer beers...it's even funnier when they go to a place like a TGI Fridays and have a conniption over them not having something like Queen Edward Magic Berry Beer on tap.

OP places like Total Wine are much cheaper than my grocery store (like close to 25%).
