Good cheap headphones (with mic) for gaming on PS4

Can anyone supply me some recommendations? I don't want to spend a lot.

To me, $50 is as high as I want to go. As a background I do have aGrado SR-60s and AudioTEchnica M50s. In the past I have owned Sennheiser HD280. So, I like good sound. But for gaming, I don't see a reason to spend.

I'm mostly interested in build quality. I want a decent mic and something with reasonably good bass granted I doubt the controller has a great nor powerful amplifier stage in it.

Anyway, can I have some suggestions. I prefer to get them at Wal-Mart or Best Buy but I will order online if it makes sense to do so.

Turtle Beach PX12 or PX22, PX22 is comfy while the PX12 is a tad small on the ears.

That modmic actually sounds nice. The $50 is high but that with existing headphones is way cheaper than getting an equivalent new gaming headset.

Going to try them with the SR-60s I have. Saw atleast one pic of the modmic attached to a similar surface (not smooth) so it should work.

I have the Turtle Beach Ear Force M5, nothing special about the sound quality, but it's really light weight so not bothersome to wear for hours, and has a nice short cord (just under 4ft) that won't get in the way much since it's designed for mobile devices. Although the short cord can make it less useful for other devices like a PC depending on where you keep your tower.

For $15-20 it's a decent budget set if you don't wanna spend a lot. The microphone is in-line, which I personally prefer to swivel boom mics, but if you'd rather have a boom mic then you should look elsewhere.

I'm assuming the Dualshock 4 has a 4-pole 3.5mm jack for both mic and audio in/out?

Wow, simple enough to install:

I don't know if there is a good spot on my Grado SR-60s to install that on though.
Not really any flat spot to install the mic onto:

So, I'd need that and one of these to stick into the PS4 controller?

Might need to get a 12' USB cable while doing this to give the controller constant power.

If you get the modmic you will have two wires. One for the mic and one for the headphones. Then you just need this http://www.amazon.com/Exclusives%C2%...tphone+adapter to go right into the PS4 controller. You don't need additional power to the controller.

Yup, ordered the mod mic. Looking at my Grados, I think I will have an easy time mounting it. I have some shitty Koss that I could use and also some Audio Technias (M50) at work. My Senns were sold a year ago (I regret selling them).

First attempt is with my Grados.

I hooked my headphones into the PS4 connector. I need something like what you linked but I want the piece that goes into the controller to be an elbow.

Regarding that link, anyone want a class action lawsuit? "Reduce Electromagnetic Radiation (EMR) caused by cell phones and bluetooth headsets" ... two solutions to that. (1) coaxial cable and (2) twisted pair. I doubt that splitter uses either technique.

I've seen Logitech G930's go for about that price on eBay from time to time. Those were some nice headphones when I had them. I accidentally broke my USB RF stick when I moved though. Ended up getting a real cheap pair of headphones to replace them, but I miss my G930's quite a bit.

Do you want something for gaming only?

I think Tritton Kama is one of the good quality gaming headsets on the lower end of the scale.

For my PS3 I use the Turtle Beach P11. Great headphones for like $60 with complete control over voice and game volume with the little box controller on the cord.

The mic is easily adjustable and when you don't use it you simply rotate it upwards on the side.

When I get a PS4 i'll grab the same model for that console, the P12.
