Good cheap speakers?

Okay, looks like im gonna try the x 530's

Anybody seen any hot deals on them?

I bought a set of GE 4.1's from Target Online. The mid and high were pretty good but the bass lacked depth.
I built a Really solid box. 2x4's thick plywood, two layers on the top. Kinda more like a small table, put the entire rig on it
and fired the sub into the back. Talk about rocking the place. Would ii meet the strictest hi-fi tests, probably not but the sound was
awesum. I was lucky that I didn't pay a dime for the wood, building site close by, got their scrap with permission.

I like to hear clear crisp noise, most of the music I have are lossless codecs rips or downloaded from allofmp3.com for an awesome PRICE (approx 4.00 per albums with that encoding.. if not, near a dollar per album at typical 192kbps.)

yeah, yoyo pointed out a good website. i own three headphones myself. I prefer open type, but closed type are good if you don't want to disturb people around you.

headphones: AKG K-240S is good and crisp; closed type, a little sound leaks out. Sennheiser HD-280 is good all around; closed type and no sound leak - some people complain the headphones are way too tight . Sennheiser HD-590 are my favorites... i don't think they make them anymore, the velvety pads are really really nice, and the open type phones has excellent imaging (i took my headphones off once to answer my door... realized it was the movie, once i saw the character go for the door) if you could, you should test out open type vs closed type - makes a big difference.
