Bellaire and Beltway 8 (BIG China Town) Best area of choice by far
Gessner and I-10 (Korean Town) Decent Korean food
Dowtown (small China Town, less good food)
Midtown (a few good places, but meh)

Three criteria for a good chinese restaurant.

1. When you walk in you better see a BIG FREAKING AQUARIUM.

2. People should barely speak english.

3. You don't see very many white people.

I thought the food at panda express on fry road was horrible.

I'm not looking for a chinese resturant that doesn't even have General Tso's anything.

Mall chinese.. You should be ashamed!

in the galleria area the most chinese I think you'll find is "chinese cafe" on richmond; right next to 24 hr fitness (they also have a restaraunt in the chinatown area)

besides that..
pepper tree on westheimer next to blockbuster and kinkos
pf changs on westheimer right outside the loop in highland village

Edit :hunan garden just slipped a take out menu under our office door; 2580 fondren..no idea if theyre any good

My wife likes peppertree (richmond actually) as she is vegan. I had something there that was ok.
I'm going to skip pf changs as it's too expensive for small portions. Although highland village is right where I am.

Folks I think I want a chinese resturant that serves me a main dish. Big enough for 2 to eat from. Lets say Kung Pao Chicken. With it I get fried rice in another big dish that me and my wife can both serve ourselves from. This would be ideal.

The other good thing would be a decent chinese buffet (gasp). I'm hungry!

I work downtown so unfortuneatly... I eat downtown.

I find the food lacking in downtown. They have a chinese resturant there called Hunan something. First floor of a white building on Louisiana and something.

I would give the food a 3 out of 5. The portions are small though.

I'm chinese so I wouldn't say they were GOOD. The best place would be the chinese cafe on richmond; but their portions may be a bit small for you.

I've been to lucky village a few times though and it's your standard chinese buffet. I would go if I really wanted to eat at a chinese buffet. Havnt been to the one in front of tru, but when my coworkers did they spent the rest of the day throwing up oysters.

Almost all asians eating there so it must be good and it's my current favorite. Lucky Village Restaurant on Dairy Ashford, 1/2 mile from I-10 West (the Katy Freeway).

hit up chinatown, lots of good chinese for cheap.

Joint called Lai Lai's Dumpling House is great. Ridiculously cheap, too.

(edit: There are classier places, though, Lai Lai's is kinda a hole in the wall)

QTF, The Korean restaurant I've been too has been in a Korean part of town. My dad and I are the only two white people I've ever seen there. Damn good food.
