Someone from my house (its a duplex, 9 guys total, all friends) thought it'd be a good idea to get a stogie each for the next football game. I've smoked cigars before, but I've never really gotten into it. I probably only smoke them 2 times or less per year.... so I'm looking for recommendations for cigars. I'd like to spend $10 or less per cigar, though I am willing to go to $15. We have two cigar shops in walking distance of my house. Extra points for smoothness and taste.

I've only smoked one, but I did enjoy the Arturo Fuentes cigar I tried. Should be about 5 bucks each at your local cigar store.

Arturos are one of my favorite stogies.

Cohibas are good, but also about the strongest smoke you can buy. Maybe not a great choice for a cigar novice.

Macanudos are a nice mild smoke.

Punch makes some very nice medium-bodies cigars. Fairly spicy, earth flavor.

La Finca makes some extremely cheap, yet excellent cigars. Definitely my fave bang-for-the-buck smoke.

Ashton would be another good choice for a n00bie looking for a smooth, mild cigar.

Partagas is probably my favorite all-around good, not-to-expensive cigar.

I've been enjoying the new C.A.O. Brazilia Samba lately. Every one I've smoked so far has smoked flawlessly, an excellent smoke for the price, ~$8 here locally (metro Detroit).

Well, one of my friends went out and bought a Fuente Gran Reserva, and we are going to sample that. $6+tax

depends on preference. Some don't like the taste of them so much. Some like em sweeter. I tend to buy only Oliveros. I like the flavors of most of them and they also have "sweet" ones. Molasses dipped tips.

I only buy from
Avila Cigars because he always treats me well. Had an order of 2 boxes come in late by one day. The owner called me up and sent me an extra smaller box of cigars as well as a bunch of samples. Even some double coronas from Oliveros. Constantly having deep discounts on their cigars. Gets shipments direct from the Dominican Republic. Several were shipped me directly from the dominican.

It depends on the situation.... We always smoke Black and Milds (not really a cigar i dont think) when i play pool. I like a good rum dipped one, forget the name... I'm no expert though, i just enjoy a good cigar every now and then. My freind has about 3 cubans though, id love to try them.

ok, seriously? if you can find a davidoff look in products, then cigars you buy it. grand cru #2 will most likely be the best cigar you will ever had, unless you can find some opus xs. & for the best bang for your buck, get the slim panatellas. davidoffs are the bentlys of cigars.

Hehe, my friend just reecntly got me in to cigars. Here's some good budget cigars (<$10). They're all mild or mild to fair:
Punch
Partagas
Ashton

Right now I'm on a pack of Davidoff Cigarillos Light. good stuff. Pack of 20 for about 10 bucks. They smoke just like cigarettes, except without the rat poison.

Your local smoke shop should carry all these brands, but i'd head to a more high end store like Tinderbox.

Enjoy.
