Anyone have experience with these people? Are they reputable? I am building a system and was looking for a cheap but decent case without a power supply and it would be great if these people were good.

This is a pretty good deal. Xoxide.com had this case for 35$ + shipping without a power supply, and its a damn nice case. Very light compared to my Koolance beast, comes with thumbscrews to access the insides which is always a plus, and a clear fan on the blowhole on the side. I got the case in Silver from Xoxide.com and its pretty darn nice, my parents should like it (X-Mas present). I'd definitely jump on this with the free 400w PSU.

Those Skyhawk aluminium cases are very thin. Compared to a Lian-Li or Coolermaster, they're not very good. They Skyhawk PSUs aren't that great either, in my experience. Had one and it was dead on the 3.3 rail.

For $64 shipped though, what the hell. But don't expect a high quality case.

Bought one of those awhile back. Got the silver one. Very cheap quality. Hated the front plastic panel. Wish I had gone with a Lian-Li. I guess you get what you paid for.

This is a repost... almost! I bought this case (in silver) for $62 without the PS from a previous hot deal. This deal is even better.

Fit and finish is good throughout. Lighweight aluminum case, though the panels seem a bit thin. Perhaps all aluminum cases are this way. I don't have a reference to compare since this is my first aluminum case. <<< EDIT: see 2 posts above regarding this. >>>

There's a hole under the front panel to suck air into the case. That's it. I've modded mine by drilling a few holes along the sides of the front panel. It's hard to increase airflow, but you can use the side blowhole. The loudest fan in my case is the AGP card cooler. Keeping that perspective in mind, the side blowhole fan is noisy so I don't use it.

80mm fans: intake & blowhole.
60mm fan: exhaust (though you could make a small mod to get an 80mm to fit)

I'm using the Leadtek nForce2 mobo and SLK800 cooler. However, I cannot connect the front MIC & Speaker jacks from the case to the motherboard since the mobo lacks headers. On the other hand, the 2 front USB are nice and are used constantly.

Just be careful, dealsonic doesn't handle their cases gently. I've received dented cases before.

Not the Lian-Li's for sure.

A month ago I got on the blue bubble Atop case. Case was dented. RMAed. 2nd case was ALSO dented. 3rd case is coming in a few days...

Other than the fact they only come with a 1-year warranty, their PSU's are great power supplies, without having to go out and shell out the $$$ for Enermax or Antec PSU's (not everyone is willing to shell out that much). ALL manufacturer's sometime or another have a DOA power supply, EVEN Enermax/Antec.

I sell Skyhawk Cases all day long to the walk-in public, online customers and dealers. They are not "very cheap quality" as you refer. They are also not $1xx+ Lian-Li quality cases either. Believe it or not, not everyone wants or can afford Lian-Li cases, and Skyhawk is a good alternative for those who "have to have" a AL case. Yes, the side panels on the Skyhawk cases do seem a bit thin, but they roll all their edges and have little or no burrs at all inside and out. They are easy to work in/out of, although a removable mobo tray would have been a nice addition. Their new Galaxy and Neptune cases are hot hot hot sellers all over the net. One of them has a 7-color LCD front panel w/temp/clock/activity lights on them. Very popular with the wives/girlfriends, esp. around X-Mas!

Remember folks, some people have Champagne tastes and beer budgets!

I go to the Pomona (CA) computer show fairly often. I was there yesterday and had the chance to check out a few cases in person before I finally purchased one.

I remember ever since the first Skyhawk cases came out (those Lian Li look-alike's), I hated them. The quality is just bad. Thin side panels, cheaply made plastic front brezel, nothing has changed from then on. Yeah I admit they look much better now with the acrylic panel at the front and what not, but they are still cheaply made.

There's noone out there that "have to have" an aluminum case. A good quality steel case made by InWin or Enlight for example can be bought for 40 bux.

BTW, guess what I got myself yesterday? The smaller version of the Chemning aluminum server tower in grey that looks the same as the Antec SX600. I paid 70 bux for the case and a 420W P/S

Just in case anyone doesn't pay attention to resellerratings.com. Don't EVER EVER EVER buy ANYTHING from Colorcases.com! I did before I knew what they were about and I'm paying the price. Put it this way... tomorrow I'm disputing charges with my credit card company and filing a complaint with the FTC unless my situation is resolved. They are hands down the worst company I have ever dealt with in 15+ years of catalog and internet shopping.

ViperV990, different parts of the US have much different buying/selling habits, esp. when it comes to computer equipment. When I was stationed outside Kansas City a few years ago, I talked to people that didn't give a rat's arse if a *insert item here* was $5 cheaper across town, they wanted it now and paid the extra money for it. Down here in Northwest Florida, it DOES matter. People will actually spend $1.31 in gas (current price for 1 gallon here) to drive across town, buy something that costs literally $0.50 less, drive home, and net a loss of ~$0.81 as well as a good 10-30 minutes of their life driving thru the idiotic traffic here. I buy Skyhawk steel and aluminum cases one or two full palettes at a time and have no problems selling those "cheap" cases here, and no I still don't think they are that bad, I've seen some REAL stinker cases in my 15 years in the computer industry. I'd love to death to be able to sell Lian-Li cases here, but this town is cheap, in almost every sense of the word. People here keep reading in magazines, etc. that you "gotta have" a AL case, they get brainwashed and want one. They don't realize that AL cases generally are more expensive cases and some don't even come standard w/PS in them. They see the higher $$$ and usually go right back to steel cases, unless the money is burning a hole in their pocket. I have to sell what people here will actually buy, I'm sure that makes sense. I personally would rather sell nothing but steel cases, but the times are changing and the importer of Skyhawk cases in the US (whom I buy from direct) is phasing out most steel cases.

circo has a high rating on resellerratings.com... they sure do give you a lot of options when ordering a case... I wonder how I would know if the case is any good.

A friend of mine just ordered a case from Circotech. Should arrive by next week. I'll post some feedback after he receives it.

BUMP!!

This is still a pretty nice deal for a black aluminum, windowed case with a 400W generic PS! There are other colors available too if you browse their Windowed Case section! Couple that with good RR and reasonable shipping and it's still a good deal (not ungodly great but good).

I got this case and am quite satisfied with it. Very nicely designed, very nice to look at, all around a good deal. Maybe the 400W PS is an el cheapo, but I didn't plan on using it anyways. Only compaints I have with the case are:

1) The power supply sits upside down for the power supply I have (not sure the model). The reason it matters is because if I set my power supply in the way the case has it set up, then the fan on the "bottom" of my PS would be flat against the top of the case. I fixed it by just putting in my PS upside down and I was still able to get 2 screws in to hold it in, problem solved.

2) The plastic material that the bay covers are made out of is hard to drill through (it's very rigid and brittle). This is only a problem if you're planning on modding the front of your case any.

3) I got the special case-fan-over-the-cpu thingie but it turns out being ugly as hell and doesn't make much of a difference, so I just don't use it.

Other than that, I love the case for the $60 or whatever I paid for it.
