Multiwave CRW2100EZ has the same writer for $169 b4 rebate. It is listed on the mwave site as P/N CRW2100E-VK, but it's linked to a description of the CRW2100EZ.??? This seems to be a kick ass deal!

I didn't see it, but i'm guessing that $99 compusa deal wasn't for one of the fastest rated CD-RW drives out there. I'm picking this one up next week just because of it's DAE speed... it's supposed to be able to rip a whole CD in under 3 min. Pretty smokin', if you ask me.

CompUSA drive (Cendyne/TEAC) does 16x burns. Same as this one.
CompUSA drive does average 28x DAE, which means you can rip an
entire FULL 80 minute CD in less than 3 minutes. Same as this
one (or better).

Or get the Iomega 16x and rename and flash to the Plextor 16x and do DAE at 40x. The Iomega is about $140 after rebate. (posted elsewhere in this forum). Name change and flash work, I can confirm it. Plextor and Teac both blow away Yamaha in CDRW quality and features (in my opinion).
