thats just a card adapter, so you can put a compact flash card into a pcmcia slot. Compuplus has a sandisk compact flash USB reader for $18 i think

THanks for the help. It looked a bit confusing. It listed it as a reader...but then at the bottom says adapter. Weird, but thanks for the help. Many blessings upon you.

Okay, now I am confused. That 16MB card at C4S. That is also a reader? Or do you mean that card can be plugged directly into a USB port without any other type of reader?

Thanks for any info/clarification. Right now I don't have a USB card reader. If I order that 16MB card, will I be able to load the pictures off of my USB port?

Thanks

Please note one thing. The Lexar JumpShot _ONLY_ works with USB enabled compactflash. It's not like a normal compactflash reader. The jumpshot cable is really just a cable. The reader is intigrated into the card itself. Thus it only works with cards designed to work with that cable. AFAIK only Lexar cards are, I know the Kodak card that came with my camera does not. That said, it's still decent, I bought that bundle from C4S last week. My preffered method though is simply to use a CF>PCMCIA adaptor and plug it in my laptop.

My Epson camera came with a Lexar USB-enabled CF card. It works well. But, I have two other non-USB CF cards that I use, so I have to break down and buy a conventional reader.

question: this jumpshot cable should work with all Lexar CF cards, right? How about Kingston's CF meomory? Anyway I got both the reader and the cable.

So are the Kingston branded compact flash memory compliant with whatever standards there are ( usb enabled? ) so a Lexar reader could be used?

The best deal if it works is get that reader from c4s and then get some larger memory separately.

If not, then buy.com had a reader I think for about $30 which is the cheapest I saw for any USB reader.

Like mentioned previously, these readers ONLY read USB-compatible CF cards. I got the Lexar 4x w/a 64MB CF card. With a 64MB CF, I don't need to use the 8MB that came with my camera (Nikon CoolPix 800), which DOESN'T work in the Lexar reader. The 8MB card I got with the camera is a Nikon unit, a Sandisk OEM unit. Nice compact, easy to use unit! I use it to test USB ports on motherboards I test.

You get a Kingston 64 MB CF card for about 70.99.

Price Match Staples w/ C4S.

70.99 out the door with no rebate hassle.

So is this a good deal? Is Kingston on par with Lexar usb enabled cards? I've heard so much about Lexar lately with their increased speed due to the integrated reader on the chip, that I don't know if I should even buy another brand of CF card anymore.

Does anyone know the difference between both cards with respect to speed & quality?

I just bought a digical camera, and it is in the mail.

I have a lexar card that comes with my digicam, and I just ordered the 64 mb lexar card w/ the jumpshot cable. Should I get this kingston brand? Or is it better to just stick with lexar from now on? Anyone's opinions would be welcome. Anyone who has both, or just has knowledge on this, please help me out.

I have the Epson PhotoPC 650.

Lexar is the only media that is "USB enabled" that I am aware of. I have CF cards from Kingston and Sandisk and neither of them work in the Lexar JumpShot.
