is $113.88 shipped ($56.94 each) for 2 128mb sticks off crucial pc2100 ddr a good deal? im thinking of buying some for my soon to be built 1ghz AMD system. will the price drop very much in the next few weeks/months? thanks.
A few months ago it would have been a great deal, but all memory prices are lower now. If you're building a ddr system, go with the 2100. don't was your time with 1600. As far as price it will do just like the SDRAM is doing.
yeah, i've got two sticks in my cart right now. i got it down to that price by entering throught the corporate 15% discount link for first time purchases. i won't have the mb for nearly a month so i'm wondering if i should hold off for now. others seem to think the price won't go lower for quite a while but i'm not so sure.
i think i will hold off. i really doubt the price will go up and i'd rather get a 256mb stick instead considering that many of the ddr boards only have 2 dimms slots. it was tempting though.
what's up with crucial! I order the 2100 they call me at the end of the next day to ask me what mobo I was going to use. I said Iwill KA266R they said that they only have ddr for the gigabyte board, I said fine I'll take it. They said they could'nt sell it to me because it has not been tested with the KA266R. I said they would not be liable if my board or ram fried or whatever. they said maybe that would be OK and said they would check and call me back. They never called back just sent an email saying that they are out of stock til april.
I bought two of these Iwill boards right after I bought this ram and sold mine and my wifes computers to be taken away this weekend. Too late to cancel the board order. I hope Crucial will be reasonable tommorrow..
