Good Down-to-earth gaming mouse

Hi, I got me a kick ass pc and I lack a proper gaming mouse to enjoy it, I have been looking around in amazon but I cant decide. I need a GOOD mouse but I dont want to expend money in marketing or bullshit features, I need a precise, relieable and durable mouse for a mid-big hand. I dont care about looks, I dont want tons of pro features, Im not a dota or league or legends pro or anything.

In my opinion either the Logitech G400s or G500s, they are good simple 5 button mice. Yes they can do sensitivity adjustments that you dont' care about but you don't have to do any of that. I run a G500, default windows driver (I don't like what the logitech driver does to the mouse feel) at 800dpi. The adjustable weights are nice though so you can get it to feel like you want it. Mice are kinda exspensive these days, not sure why, so its going to cost you at least $50 bucks. Nice thing about Logitech though is if if ever goes out on you they will send you another one, pretty much no questions asked. They are very solid on customer service. The difference between the 400 and 500 is the 500 has adjustable weights and is laser, the 400 can feel a little light but its not that big a deal.

so whats best laser or optic? Im thinking about deciding about the G500, I suppose because the number after the G is Higher, is better overall than the G400?

Get a wired optic mouse with a flawless sensor. For a mid to big hand presumably you are palm gripping? If so I would recommend either the logitech G400s if you like the high back or the lower back (and in my opinion the better of the two) is the Zowie Evo CL EC1. Both are too the point accurate gamer mice. Most of the others I know of are claw or fingertip grip mice, its kind of slim pickings for genuinely good accurate gamer mice these days.

The G500 is not flawless, do not get that.

Im thinking about death adder 2013, I have been looking at grip pictures and I think mine is fingertip kind. I can go palm grip but I get tired.

I have read that deathadder is more designed for palm but its ok for figertips, what do you think? and also about the overall quality of it

I have a logitech G500s. I love it. It's a 10 button mouse not 5 as previously mentioned. I had a Razer Habu for a long time and it was good but when it finally died I didn't like Razer's Synapse software. Plenty of complaints about that you can Google your own research.

If your a fingertip gripper then the g400s is too tall on the back, its definitely a palm grip mouse. The deathadder 2013 is OK for a big handed fingertipper and you could also try a smaller mouse like the Zowie FK or Zowie AM.

I can fingertip grip my g400s just fine, while it was designed for palm it is also a good fingertip mouse for some people.

Still loving the Steelseries Ikari. It's not cheap, but from how it's held up over the last few years I'm pretty sure it'll last for a while. Simple, elegant, and extremely responsive for my twitch gaming or simply browsing. It fits well for finger-gripping or claw. It is short, so palming it may not be as comfortable.

I lost faith in Logitech after I had a couple of their microswitches for the buttons lose their functionality after only a year. It can honestly happen to any mouse, but after being a Logitech fan for my peripherals for over 10 years, I thought it was time to move on.

Side note: always get wired.

I'd say g500s as well, I had a G5 before and wanted something similar. I don't use any of the special buttons and they don't get in the way, it's set at the middle speed and I leave it there. The weights are also nice. However the construction isn't quite on par with my old G5.

my favorite all-time mouse also, but mine developed issues in both mouse buttons after i had it for a year or two. now i'm using a sensei which is decent.

Its a flawless mouse. It will probably fail early, Razor mice aren't known for their long life but its a decent sensor on a reasonable shaped mouse. I am not personally a fan of the low flat mice really, I prefer a mid back as I am half and half palm and claw.

The logitech G500 is a fantastic mouse. It has weights to allow you to control your preference and the comfort for me, (also mid-big hands) is second to none. Been using mine for a couple years. I like it so much I am tempted to buy a second and put it away for the future.

You can't go wrong with anything by Logitech. I had G400S and just upgraded to G700s. I wanted cordless, profile switching on/fly and additional buttons. I tried Razer naga 2014 just couldn't get use to it. Also the sensor didn't seem all great.

For properly good, get a G500S.

For cheap and cheerful, get a MX518.

For rugged and durable, get a Intellipoint 1.1, if you can find it. That mouse will last years and years and years. DO NOT BUY the newer Microsoft mouses, they have a noticeable delay on the middleclick, terrible.

Pretty much what everyone else is saying. Get a logitech g500s. If you want a cheaper route you can find the g500 for around 25-30 on ebay and it's virtually the same mouse. The only difference is a little higher dpi but when I game I never went over 3k dpi.

The g700 is also a decent mouse if you want a few more buttons.

i dunno either thats all i use is the g9x.. maybe there is something better now? like quad laser hehe
