good drinks?

I just started getting in to alcohol - not mass consumption, but more of a conossiur. i started brewing my own beer, and i really like the experience of that. i haven't gone to any bars, so i don't really know many drinks at all.

I was wondering what you guys thought were some tasty drinks? this could be mixed drinks - name and proportion of things in the drink; or liquor - name, brand, cost; wine - name, year, cost; or beer.

i can't guarantee i'll try everything, but the more interesting and readily available ones i will definitely make an effort to try.

24 winecoolers of your choice.
1 Tin of pink lemonade powdered mix.

Its called jet fuel, and man is it tasty. perfect for a decent sized party.

hmmm, 100 proof vodka? would 80 proof be ok? i have tito's vodka, which is excellent. and that is a lot of liquid... i probably won't get around to that one for a while... heh.

I'm a fan of microbrew porters. The Pacific Northwestor Oregon, rather makes some of the best. Beers like Black Butte Porter, Rogue Porter etc. These are difficult to find in most places including the Bay Area where I currently live. Though I found somehting called Organic Porter at a whole foods here supposedly made in oregon but something I never saw the 6 years I lived there... Not bad but pretty pathetic considering. These days I'm more into single malt scotch (I'm only 24 but I think I have a refined taste for these things) Dalmore and Balvenie are two good ones. Make sure you have nothing less than 12 years though.

Mixed drinks are well... pretty terrible for the most part. Sugar and alcohol don't mix for me.

Is Southern Comfort really a rum? I've never had any other rum that tasted like it. I'd consider it a liqueur.
