Good EMAIL client? NOT Outlook Express

Can anyone reccomend a good, lightweight email client?

I was using Outlook Express... but it's full of security holes, but it sucks. And it's full of security holes. And it like auto runs things sometimes or something and I def. just got a virus from it. Stupid Outlook Express.

I use Foxmail - it has its bugs, but it also has all the features i was looking for in a nice, stable, fast, email client.
Pegasus is another similar client you can try.

Im using thunderbird, though I found outlook express a bit easier to use and a LOT quicker

you can stop the auto preview stuff. and perhaps you should be less concerned with your email client and more concerned with your antivirus.

I have read some reports that Foxmail is actually spyware any thoughts on that. I use Evolution which I have set up to grab my mail through SSL off a server in my Cs department which has already been scanned for virii etc.. I am pretty happy with that.

If the email clients MS puts out weren't brain-dead the antivirus wouldn't be nearly as important.

hey all,

After constant hanging issues with OL 2003, i tried out thunderbird. it's nice and clean but I got one nooby question which I can't figure out for the life of me.

How do you do check for new emails all at one time. It seems like I have to check each one individually. Is this right?

OMG...my college used to promote/support Eudora...I hated it with a passion. I feel bad for most of the students...they were stuck using it since they didnt know any better.

Accounts > View Account Settings > Server Settings > "Check for new messages at startup"

do that for every account.

on my thunderbird I have that, at startup it checks one account but waits about 30 seconds before it checks the other one
(edit: mine are both different POP)
