Full disclosure: I am mostly apathetic about politics. I did not vote for either of them. And I did not like either of them. I am commenting mainly as an outsider with general libertarian leanings of small government and social Liberty aka the exact opposite of Trump's Nationalistic Populism.



Would the conservative religious right care to comment on this? Does this sit right? Does it bother you?
For years I've heard it said that vulgarity and profanity and sex from tv and media role model are leading to the ruin of society..

Well you guys just voted in the King of it to the head office of the land.. Just confuses me a bit.

Hoping not to start a flame war. I am sure many feel like it's was a lesser of two evil. But was it a crisis of faith for you. Did you really pick the lesser?

That being said, the First Amendment is still an awesome thing even if some people use it to say @sshole things.

And OP, I have similar political leanings and feelings about Trump but I haven't completely given up the (probably naive) optimistic hope that he might be an improvement on some civil liberties. My brain tells me that he likely won't but I'm not going to be preemptively pessmistic.

Another full disclosure, I grew up a few hours from a major city that's known for its certain leniency when it comes to profanity ..

And though it got more rural our use of fbombs and hard c's and dirty jokes with highly suggestive and innuendo laced language .. in certain audiences and situation.. was completely acceptable.


I now live in the south.. And my occasional slips back into my native linguistic .. Vulgarity.. Are quite judged. Let's just say.. I've been told more than once that I "need more Jesus".
I've made a few jokes to Some of my closer friends .. And they take offense at my cussing.. And they really didn't like it when I pointed out that Trumps our Pres now.. Almost Half the country said this kind of talk is pretty much okay. They even voted for him.

It just confuses me. Say one thing, but support another.

I didn't say don't have a president.. I said have legit other options. The rest of the democratic world is able to function with multiple party systems and are considerably less partisan because of it. All the wack jobs on the ends of the spectrum go to their fringes and the sane people in the middle are able to reasonably compromise their way through governing. Not a constant red vs blue stalemate like this country has seen in congress and the senate since old Ronny back in the 80s.

I happen to really like rocky road ice cream.. but I'm not expecting your terrible ice cream parlor to have that.. I'm willing to be reasonable and take chocolate which has mass appeal..
