Good for Nvidia... Prices rising but they deserve it. Geforce3 worthy of $600 price tag

Why would someone want a $600 video card, name one game you cant run with a gf2 MX?
People are so hyped up about how pretty games will look, but how about wondering if the games are even going to be good. Who would want to play a crappy game for more than 5minutes, How long until you get bored of just sitting there playing a game you hate only because it has amazing graphics?
What if from now on all they release is games that use amazing new graphic technics and absolutely no game play. then every one will be sitting there with a $5000 gaming machine and still playing Q3 and nfs5 for the 8th year in a row .

By the way, i don't want to sound arrogant even though i probably did, lol, but you can pick up a GeForce 2 GTS for $30-$50 more than a MX now and it wipes the floor with the MX.

I admit, I can't afford the GeForce 3! It would cost around $900 cdn! There are plenty more things I could buy in that price. I know it's a good card, but I can't afford it, so hence, I complain about the price. Believe me, if everyone was rich enough to buy it we all would. I agree about people complaining about things they can't afford. At the same time, they praise the the things they did buy. If you're looking for the pros and cons you'll find them.

Hey, i'm not buying the GeForce 3 anytime soon either, i have better things to spend the money on as well plus i already have a GeForce 2 GTS with a gig T-Bird and that will do for a long time. I think it is foolish to spend $600 on that card and i also think it's out of many people's price range as well. I mainly design websites with my PC and do light gaming but when i do play games i like them to be very smooth so hence the GTS. All i'm saying is i think it's even more foolish to buy a MX right now with the prices on the GTS being as low as they are. Damn, even a GeForce 256 DDR is faster than a MX. If you're going to play at 1024X768 and above go for the GTS, the price is right right now and i'm sure it will drop some more in three weeks.

A GF2U is still overkill fo most of us. The GF3 will be overkill and overpriced. Of course in time it'll be a great buy and I may see myself installing one perhaps in Dec.

I prefer RTS, so for me this is not money well spent on a graphics card.

I would however pay $300.00 for a ATI Radeon All in Wonder.

For $600.00 you also could buy:

Motherboard $150.00
Case $100.00
256MB PC133 CL=2 $ 90.00
ATI Radeon 32MB DDR $150.00
1 GHZ CPU $245.00

or

Matrox G450 Dual Head $150.00
Samsung 900NF $450.00(add a 19&quot; to your setup)


I would prefer more machines as to a single revved rig. Although, when I built my first machine I went all out on the best of the best so that little itch has been scratched. If I had a legitimate reason(like playing a lot of 3D intensive games)I would definately shell out $350.00 but no more than that.
I would hold no grudges against those of you who want to pay $600.00 for a video card.
Hell, I paid $1000.00 for a Sony GDM-F400 so I cannot say anything about someone who wanted buy the latest and greatest Geforce card for $600.00

I guess I would say they are overpriced for me but to each his own.
