Depends what you use it for. It will be superior to the one in your sig for close up general PC usage (obviously).

Atron is cheap korean panel assembler. They gather off grade (A- or lower) panels and parts and make cheap displays. Some korean assemblers do it better than others and often with great results. But you get what you pay for. Although a big fan of korean assembled monitors, I would not buy that particular model for myself.

Its basically (according to the specs) very similar to the one reviewed below. Many of the korean assemblers use the same parts. They also exaggerate some of the features. It will definitely not OC to 120hz for example (maybe up to 85hz).

Thanks.

I'm hoping to find a monitor under $400 that will take advantage of my video card and make the the new DOOM look even better - open to any and all suggestions!

Does Hanspree still make monitors? I bought my son a 27", 1900x1200 model over 4 years ago and it is still going strong. Only cost $250!

Acer XG270HU (144Hz, TN, Freesync) can usually be had for around $400 or less. Read reviews on TFTCentral of panels you are interested in. Set up a couple price drop notifications on Newegg/Amazon. Browse sites like slickdeals and dealzon.

Korean panels are a decent budget choice but keep in mind there's limited guarantees in regards to dead pixels, backlight bleed, IPS glow, or refresh rates. (i.e. you won't get near 120Hz without frameskipping)

Maybe save up a little more and go for something like a used/refurb/on sale ASUS PB278Q? That way you would be able to take advantage of G-Sync. That combination would provide a loooong lasting, quality experience.

Also, DP 1.3/1.4 panels will probably start to pop up within the next 6-8 months, I'm sure this would bring down the cost of current 27" 144Hz panels.

I just got an Acer 24" IPS general use display, and it is, by far, the best monitor (CRTs included) that I've yet stared into in 30+ yrs. of computing. I do photo work, not a gamer, so for me it's perfect. The linked display looks to be a beauty.
