Good game on Steam?

I'm looking to buy a new steam game that would run on my PC (low settings is OK for me). I'm getting CS:S & Garry's mod for sure. I already have cs1.6 and Orange Box but I'm looking for some new games on steam.

I mostly like RTS and FPS games but any genre is okay, once it's good...

Games that I had in mind:

Half Life 1 Anthology ( has this game aged well?)
Rome Total War: Gold Edition
Company of Heros
Dawn of War: Gold Edition

Which game would your recommend from this set? Are there any other games on steam you would recommend. I'm interested in STALKER as well but I'm not sure how well it will run.

-Thanks.

Steam has had Painkiller Gold for a while for $10. Haven't seen the price lately, but might want to check if its still that price

Company of Heroes is a great game if it'll run on your computer.

Half Life 1 is classic. You should be able to run it on maximum settings and it will look pretty darn good.

It sure won't buddy. It won't run on a 6600GT, let alone a 6200. Neither will Stalker. When I say "won't play" I mean unplayable. When I tried to run Bioshock on my 6600GT i drop the res down to 640x480 on low and it was still unplayable. 15-20 FPS. That was with a C2D.

Don't buy any games, just save for a new video card.

Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines

Seconded. Vampire could be one of the best games ever made, even with its flaws. It's got a great story, interesting characters, and fun gameplay. I think it's near perfect.

There are a couple of hl2 mods I've been playing recently that I've really enjoyed:
Zombie Panic and
Hidden: Source

Zombie Master is supposed to be fun as well. They're all free if you have the hl2 SDK, so they may not qualify

Peggle Extreme and Deluxe

And no this isn't meant to humiliate your system's capabilities, my suggestion is legitimately honest believe me, they're fun games. They look a little childish at first glance, indeed, but that's what makes them fun, it makes me remember a similar game I used to play on my Dreamcast named Swirl.

Depending on the price if you haven't played through them get Half Life Anthology. I picked that up last year when Gogamer had it for $4.99 plus super saver shipping and I ended up playing through every game again all the way through. It isn't high tech, but it is still fun.

I'm also in the same boat. I am playing through HL2, episode 1 and 2. After I am done with that I think I'll move on to Bioshock. Any others worth mentioning?

Out of all the puzzle games that are out there I feel this is the best (cept portal). I played extreme and then went and bought deluxe. Played deluxe non-stop until I beat the adventure mode.

Its neat but I could not really get into it, I honestly thought I was going to like it more than I did.

Half Life Anthology is $15 on steam for the guy that was asking the price.
It's still worth it at that price point right?
