Ive just been trying to play some old not too popular games to find that surprise surprise they either dont work or perform poorly and since they werent all that popular theres no patches for specific problems or anything. Its bullcrap. Beginning to hate dual core and X1900XT.
Anyways, my little list of games that werent popular but were still fun:
Earth 2150/moon project/lost souls - Such a good game! If you like c&c this is great, its 3d RTS done right, shame theres no FMV's or anything. Looks amazing even on a PII. Funnily enough a PII with a geforce 4 outperforms my main gaming rig, strange eh? Anyways its got some really neat features that make RTS less boring. You can design your own units, pick your own research, and attach your own type of turret to a building, fully customizeable base OR you can build 4 HQ's and have them manage research/construction/turrets & upgrades/defence, pretty kewl since upgrading can be a pita. Also you can dig underground tunnels and send units through them. Not like the lame way tib sun did underground, but a whole other level to the map that consists of tunnels you make, no underground bases though
Giants citizen kabuto - This game was funny and fun! The part where you find the "survivor from dick whittington prison was great you can fly around in this game too! Yes, an fps that you can fly in, and build a base in, multiplayer was real fun, unless you were kabuto the big giant whos on his own and cant jump high enough to kill the helicopters everyone else would get.
Recoil - You are a tank, you got laser type gun things, and a changeable main gun, it can fire fire, or ice, or mortar, or electricity, tonsa stuff. Was pretty good when it came out, tad repetitive but still fun.
Imperium galactica II - Its civilisation in space, with destroyers corvettes cruisers and the mighty battleship. Its also got ground combat with tanks. Theres diplomacy (kinda simplistic though) and spying and trading and buying ships from the market. Its a really good game, no idea why it didnt catch on.
Add to my list if you know of any good games that werent popular.
