flasks sound useless, I thought only alcoholics in far west movies used them.

Pocket knives and bottle openers are useful to anyone.

I got them beer steins with their family crest painted on them.

Yep. When I was a groomsman a few years ago, the groom got us each 4 beer steins + a pitcher. Steins were normal (but high quality), pitcher was engraved (initials, not family crest)

Maybe a nice Victorinox Huntsman or Farmer? Maybe a multitool like a Leatherman?

Get them a nice hand lens. They likely already have a pocket knife and pocket tool or three. Alcohol and accoutrements are never appropriate as gifts.

I got a nice flask filled with some bourbon and it had my name on it. it's nice...know how often i use it? never.

I also got a nice custom set of pens. I love them.

the flask is easy. but it sucks. I'm sure if you think about it you can figure out something personal to go with the flask or pocket knives (the knives are a great idea).

the pen set i have look like golf clubs set in a golf bag. they write very well and i love having them. it's something i am proud to keep on my desk.

I gave out engraved pocket knives at mine.

I gotta admit that Google Chromecasts would be a cool idea.

Chromecasts would be neat.

Also, my god am I glad we didn't do the traditional wedding ceremony thing. Whole night cost us about $200. The next morning I was still married, still had fun, and saved tons of money.
