Looking to buy a Garmin/TomTom for my car. I don't want/need to spend a whole lot, maybe around $120-130. I don't mind buying used either. I remember my boss said he got a good deal on one around Black Friday, but I don't want to wait that long to get one. Any suggestions or ideas about models I should look into? I don't need a whole long list of features, just something that will be accurate, and that is updatable. Current traffic reports and stuff like that aren't something I need.

Garmin 1350lmt can be had for around that price, and you get lifetime map updates + traffic. you should go into a BB if you have one around and play with them. The one by me has about 20 different models on display.

Ditto on the Garmin... Any of the 1300 series are good and are at a great price point.

I've tried them all over the years... been through several magellans, used some Tom Toms... The Garmin has been the most Durable for me and I use mine on my motorcycle... 11,000 miles of vibrations and dampness so far and it still works great.

Keep an eye on the Amazon daily deals, that have GPS every few months. If you need one soon that Garmin on clearance sounds like a good deal. Amazon has a chart of the Garmin features by model if you look at a model's details.

I will check on the garmin 3790t. I don't need it right away, but I'll need it by the end of the 2nd week in June. I'll also keep my eye out for the 1350lmt, see if I can find a good deal on it.

I have a Garmin 255WT, which comes with free (ad supported) traffic. I really like it. At first I was kind of pissed about the small banner ad (only when you use traffic) but it's been incredibly accurate and keeps me going. The banner ad is only on the home screen, not during navigation or any menus.

Best part is the text to speech, so I don't really have to look at it if I don't want to. I've seen it for sale for as low as $90. http://www.amazon.com/Garmin-4-3-Inc.../dp/B002ACBNXO

after using various gps units from garmin, tomtom, and magellan, magellan gps units are the best. Magellan has the best routing and text to speech (best pronunciation) as well as lane assist (this is a must feature). Also, get at least 4.7" or larger gps. 4.3" just doesn't cut it.

please dont get tomtom... omg they suck hard (pronounciation sucks and their routing is horrible and what's up with static blue rectangle info on the bottom that takes screen estate away?)
