I checked it yesterday on my lunch hour. Everything was only 10% off. That's it. They did have a few higher percentage markdowns but only on selected items like a 650 turntable for 500 (MMF brand?). Everything else was straight 10% off. They were actually selling a 25 pack of memorex DVD-r's for 29.99 with 10% off. They did have a docking cradle for Fuji digtal cameras for 19.99, list is 49.99. Didn't buy until I checked eBay for the same item. Many sellers selling the cradles for 14.00 shipped. My advice is wait until they drop the prices a higher percentage. Right now, many of their items with the 10% off isn't even in-line with Fry's non-sale prices. But for some, the 10% off might be good deal. As in Apple items, which seem to rarely go on sale.

I'm not there.. i don't know.. but when a lot of places go out of business like this.. they keep upping the % off each week or so, as the good stuff starts dissapearing...
i.e. the longer you wait, the cheaper it gets.. but the more likely it's sold out.

nowhere near as bad as the Tweeters that closed around me about a month ago. That had a 42" EDTV Plasma with a 20% discount - marked down to $2899! Their prices were raised to over retail value and then marked down...making it more than they normally had been. I laughed and told the salesman you could walk across the street to CC and get the same TV for $1999. He was like "yeah i know, we will continue to lower prices, come back then". I was like WTF? We walked out.

They really pissed me off on a car mp3/cd player purchase 2 yrs ago. The one week I needed to get one they had a good price but it was a piece of junk. Didn't have another deal literally for over a year on something similar after going through 3 units (it was a jensen P.O.C btw) Can't imagine ever getting a good deal there. Good riddence

Yep, they had a bunch marked down (but not marked down that much) in the Emeryville store when I went by to take a look this afternoon. No big discounts on anything so far but the store is right on my drive home so I'm gonna keep checking to see if they actually have any deals as the clearance goes on.

I remember when they used to sell computers, like Packard Bell. Then they went to just home entertainment and car audio.
I still have the VCR I bought from one a long time ago. It sits unknown condition.

Can anyone say: Philips DVP 642?
The best inexpensive dvd player that will play everything including avi, divs, xvid, subs, etc.

Texas, Georgia, Illinois and Indiana are not exactly west coast and there are fry's stores there.

Good riddance to ?Good Guys.? Years ago, they had answering machines on sale with an extra 10% for a certain brand. I went to the store and found only one of that brand. They refused to give me the extra 10% (only $5) and the manager yelled at the clerk because ?I told you to keep these off the shelves.? When I insisted that he give me the discount, he yelled at me too. I never went back to ?Good Guys? again.

The only other bad experience I ever had with customer service was at CompUSA. It was not a surprise when I found out they were the same company.
