Yeah, look at the windows performance counters.
It's inside control panels\admin tools\performance. The standard windows app lets you log all sorts of stats (just about anything you can think of from harddisk (by disk or by partition or by any combination) to network transfer rates to cpu usage etc) to a file. There's a program called samurize that you can use to monitor these stats and create custom dashboards with, or you can d/l somebody elses dashboard.
