My Barton 2800+ has been running REALLY hot on stock cooling, we're talking 65' C under load. So I was thinking about getting a cheap, quiet, aftermarket HSF combo to go into my Antec SLK3700BQE case. Does this look like a good package? Thanks Newegg.com

I'm using the TT Silent Boost with a Panaflo L1A 80mm fan, and my 2600+ mobile never goes above 45C.

You might check THIS out. While it's not copper, it's a great deal for $10, and would be much better than the stock HSF.

You might try looking at the Speeze coolers at Newegg. I've never used one, but have heard they are decent coolers for the price.

yeah get that heatsink it is one of the best
and can be made to run more silent than most any heatsink out there when coupled with a 92mm fan with a variable speed knob or something

that other heatsink you are looking at probably barely cools better than the retail heatsink and it is prob louder too when the speed is set to where it would be dissipating the same heat as the retail heatsink in the same situation.

just get a big solid copper heatsink like the slk series and outfit it with a high cfm 92mm fan that don't have too many rpm's to make untolerable air/sound disturbances. As long as it isn't like 110f where you live this usually does the trick better than the other cheesy copper-aluminum hybrid coolers with their weird and weirder fan designs.

one more vote for the thermalight and panaflo. It may cost more but you will see a good decrease in temps while keeping pretty quiet. I would check svc as they usuall have really good prices for fans, heatsinks, and such

TT Volcano 7+ works alright...the Thermalright/Panaflo would do nicely

Yeah, a Thermalright SLK-900a (or 947u if your motherboard has mounting holes for it) and a Panaflo fan would keep you cool and quiet. Of course, Speeze has come out with a new heatsink that looks pretty awesome for the price: $13.49 for all copper heatsink with a quiet 80mm fan. I may just order one of those for myself, as a backup!
