Last time I bought CD's I got like 110 for $5. And of course you can find em free. I mean if you are DESPERATE for floppies I guess this is a good price. I use one (and so far only one) for college. I have more old ones around the house I can use. Just gotta make sure to format them first to see if they are still good, otherwise you might find out later that some of the old floppies have bad sectors. Not good

Thanks for the heads up on the deal. I need these for the Microsoft Picture Viewer I am giving as a gift. I thought of putting new labels on some old floppies, but I want to make sure everything works from the get go. The whole point of the Picture Viewer is ease of use and I don't want any problems with old floppies.

As long as you format the old floppy first, you shouldn't have any problems. If the format finishes and it shows bad sectors, that floppy is bad, throw it out. If it shows everything fine, chances are the floppy is fine and you wont have any probs.

I've been throwing my floppys out. I remember getting 50 packs free after rebate. Don't remember the last time I used one. Was thinking about saving them as collectibles along side a Monopoly .com edition.

You need a floppy to boot to DOS when converting your $20 Memorex 48x24x48 CDRW to a Lite-On 52x24x52. That's what, I did, yesterday.

I find uses for floppies all the time. AlanS, you better keep some of your newer floppies on hand or you will be running to the store and have to pay full price - Murphy's law at work... You have been warned .

thanks.. I was just thinking the other day that I would have to bite the bullet and get some floppys, it took me like 30mins to find one (needed a dos disk to do some firmware flashing)

You can get up to 40 pictures on a floppy with the Microsoft Picture Viewer. I am amazed at how good the pictures look on a TV.
