I just took a bunch of pics and now I want to resize them. I have the Windows XP powertools but with the resized pictures, the compression is bad and they are much lower quality than the originals. Are there any good image resizers?

Try Irfanview - it lets you specify pixels H & V, and at changed native size, the result is excellent. It's free.

This may be a little late but I highly recommend the OP invests in a copy of ACDSee.
It has a butt-load of tools and all of them work well.
Chances are, if you spend enough time with your digital camera you will need to use everything they have at least once.

Just start with the basic Photo Manager at the top.
Its a thumbnail viewer at heart, but they keep adding more and more features to it with every version. You can do slide-shows and instant HTML thumbnail pages and image editing and bulk resizing and renaming and a bunch of other stuff.

Makes the weakness of the Windows tools much more apparent.

I recently went from ACDSee Classic to the latest photo manager version. I was worried that it was going to be a resource pig based on some comments I've read in the past but it looks like they've cleaned things up. It's pretty fast and it does a boatload of image editing including resizing. I'm pretty happy with it but, of course, it's $39. They sent me a coupon code yesterday for 15% off so if anyone interested in getting a ACDSee product can PM me for it.
