Good news for Supernatural fans

This will not be the end of the line for the Winchesters. Today the show was officially renewed for a 6th season starting this fall.

That's not good news!

The creator of the show always planned on 5 seasons with a clear plan for how to finish it.

I said to my wife before that I wouldn't be surprised if they did this, network execs see the shows doing well, and force it to continue against the will of the creator.

This is just an assumption but I'd not be surprised if I was correct.

Just like Smallville and Scrubs, forced to go on longer than it was meant to and becomes a bastardized version of it's former self.

Creator and Exec-producer Eric Kripke is completely onboard and involved for Season 6. He's been hinting all along that he had ideas for how the series could continue after this years apocalypse is wrapped up.

Well at least it'll have a chance of being good if they're on-board.

Don't get me wrong, I really do like the show, I just don't want it to becoming one of the scenarios I referenced before.

Hmm I don't know... the entire show's been building up to this current arc and it'd be really difficult to top it. I mean seriously what more can they do than the frigging apocalypse without making a mockery of it all? They better not drag it on.

I pretty much entirely agree with lokiju here, i'm not sure how this is good news.

I love the show, but i'd have to say i really think it's time to wrap things up already!

I absolutely hate seeing shows dragged out longer than they should be, so i really hope they somehow can pull off another good season, & PROPERLY END THINGS.

So when should Dexter end?

It's a far more open show; there's so much more you can do with it as long as the writers' do a good job.

So for me, Dexter could likely go on for many more seasons (again assuming quality writing, since AFAIK they abandoned the books a while ago).
