Good overclocking RAM?

I've been struggling with overclocking for the last two days and I've come to the conclusion that my Corsair Value Ram just wont cut it for overclocking on my chaintech VNF4 motherboard

Whatever I do I cannot get the FSB past 230. Lowered the HT to 4x, even 3x, and I get a blue screen/restart every time windows begins to load. This leaves my memory at 5:6/383 mhz with a measly 3500 mhz overclock for my a64 3500.

Tried upping the voltages, installing different bios's, loosening the timings to rediculous amounts. Nothing... Cant get it past 230.

So I've decided to send the memory back and order some performance stuff in hopes to fix this problem. I dont want to spend too much money, but I want something that gives me the ability to overclock my computer to a decent level.

What would you guys recommend?

I doubt your RAM is hindering your overclock, because that's typically not a limit on the A64. Your board or chip may have reached its current limit.

Ive read of others getting much better overclocks with this board though. Ive never heard of anyone being maxed out at 230 FSB like this, it doesnt make sense.

do you think it could be a faulty board?

As I said, it might be your chip--you're already at 2530 MHz (230*11), and a typical Winchester overclock is 2.6 or thereabouts. Remember, overclocking's never guaranteed, and you really don't have a reason to complain since you're already getting more performance than you paid for.

Hmm... well, I was expecting quite a bit more out of a winchester 3500

For some reason I dont think its the chip because it boots fine until it tries to load windows. Then I get an IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL blue screen error which I'm pretty sure is memory. correct me if im wrong though

I'm not sure what that is... if you're suspecting that memory is the problem, thoroughly Memtest your RAM. If it's defective, exchange for the same type (for now, at least).

I said Memtest, not P95 In case you don't know, Memtest is a bootable application that tests your RAM for errors. It's generally better to use this when you're trying to figure out if your RAM is a problem.
