I am looking for some good P2P software, mainly to download music but also some videos. I've heard of Limewire. Is that any good? What about Azureus?

1. Download the uTorrent client
2. Download PeerGuardian
3. Download torrents from any of the major torrent sites
4. Understand the risks when you download copyrighted material.

Thats freaken sick. I was reading about this earlier. I was really hoping she'd win. Sad to see the RIAA getting away with this crap. :/ Music artists need to retaliate against the RIAA, they're the ones who would have the power to bring them down.

As for good software, I use shareaza, it does regular p2p (gnutella edonkey and gnutella2 I think) and torrents as well.

I am using Official BitTorrent Client and it is the simplest bittorrent client to use. I have tried BitLord but there is nothing better than BitTirrent.

DailyTech Article
Thomas, a single mom with two kids

Well, they are sucking $222,000 from single mothers now instead of elderly women who do not own computers.....

Nope. I have experienced serious memory leaks with uTorrent. Bad enough to take down windows. Plus, as KingTech mentions, it is the simplest client, also with a relatively small footprint.

actually they seem to have fixed it in the last build. i'm using the latest beta version. stable and fast. love utorrent. very fast.

OP, i've used shareaza in the past and it's a great program. just make sure you're aware of the consquences of downloading and sharing copyrighted content.

Bittorrent 6.0 is based on the same code as uTorrent. Use either and you'll be using the same interface. uTorrent however is more frequently updated.

Why to use uTorrent? BitTorrent is creation of the founder of this protocol and I think he knows better than any other.

Key words...

"Closing arguments were made on Thursday before the jury was sent to deliberate, ending the three-day trial during which the recording industry tried to establish that Thomas had offered over 1,700 songs in a shared folder on the Kazaa file-sharing network in 2005."

So the key is to download and not share.

I don't think that's possible with a bittorrent client is it? You have to upload to download, right? If you could get around the upload issue, that kind of goes against the spirit of the technology. You be stealing from the pirates to get get the illegal music

It is possible unless you seed the entire file.

Damn if I steal from pirates. How could anyone do such a thing! That should be illegal!
