Do you really want one such that you don't have to use your computer to do the printing? If so, check out http://www.daves-digicams.com . He has reasonably reliable reviews of most of the important ones.
. Though with the extremely low cost of the new Canon iP4000 (~$140 shipped from newegg) and the amazing quality of its output, I can't imaginge buying a limited purpose printer. See the review at the same site.

Personally I prefer to doctor my images (crop, rotate, lighten/darken, adjust color etc.) before committing them to expensive photo paper. So I'm still recommending the iP4000.

I'm selling the i860 I have in favor of the iP4000 which i just ordered as i see no mistake here...I have noticed some curling effect with the Canon @ Letter sized photos but hoping the this new one will straighten matters up

I'll put in my vote for the Canon iP4000 as well...just picked it up for $118 + tax at Office Depot on Thursday, and it's nothing short of amazing for photo prints. Also, the thing that really made me choose it over the i860 was the automatic dual-sided printing.....very useful.

Edit: The dual paper sources/paths are very useful too; i.e., you can have paper both in the tray at the top of the printer, and the cassette below the printer - you can even have different sizes loaded and switch between them either in the drivers or by a button on the printer itself.

Actually I think the cheapest way to do it is to go to a photoshop and get them printed. It costs around 20 cent pr. picture where I live, and they can be submitted by internet.

Canon i9900? Do you have a maximum price limit? Your $300 minimum is rather generous!

anything in the $200 range with separate tanks for each color, and 6 color min would be an excellent choice no matter what brand, lexmark, canon, epson, or HP.

However, i want to note that most of the HPs i have had, have a 14" max length built into the driver. The epson 925 I have can take in paper rolls, and sizes longer than 14". I love the epson printer =D.

THIS is the top dog printer of all photo printers at the <$200 range:

http://reviews.cnet.com/4505-3...78331.html?legacy=cnet

Notice that review was only a 5.9/10.0, right? Well make sure you read the reviews of the users who posted their evaluations. 90% of them absolutely RAVE about this gem. That's how I took a chance on it and it is truly an amazing product. The CNET reviewer must've been paid off. All of his evaluations are waaaay off base.

I ordered it refurbished directly from Epson for about $200 in December. The pictures are stunning. It uses seven color tanks as well as the unique 2-picoliter ink droplets for EXTRA fine detail. Trust me when I say the text is great, the speed is decent, it's really quiet, and the high resolution photos are AWESOME!

Don't take my word for it - read those positive reviews by other users. Even half of the negatives are obvious fake if you notice. It'll be the best steal you'll have this year... I promise.
