Lately I've been buying Interstate batteries from Costco.

Walmart Valuepower.

48.88 a pop. It says out of stock on the website, but they were there in the store I went to.

$48.88?! Thats pretty dirt cheap.

Also another extreme cheap route I done a couple times is hit up a local junk yard and check out their "pulled batteries" section. I grab a Autocraft yellow top in the past and drop it off at advance auto for them to recharge it. I knew the guy who work at Advance auto so I knew he wouldn't do a short 2 hour recharge. He charged it overnight and in the morning it stated it was back at 95% original capacity. Battery cost $19 and recharge was free.

Interstate is a pretty good brand, but my personal choice ia AC Delco batteries. They seem to last a long time. You can also go and get a Sears Diehard and it will do an excellent job. Whatever you get, be sure your terminals are clean and properly tightened. Also check your car battery ground cable for tightness at the engine block. And run a quick check to be sure the Alternator is putting out about 14VDC with the headlights and a couple of other accessories on.

If you are on a cheaper budget, you can go to a salvage yard and get a 1 year used battery out of a wrecked car for $20 - $25 with a 30 day warranty.

Advance Auto when they have their larger discount coupon codes live like $40 off $100, $30 off $80, etc.

I get blems from a local battery place for around $40.00. Sticker might not be on correctly or whatever, but its a new battery and works well.

I found no matter where I buy batteries it's a crap shoot. I buy a fair amount each yr and now I buy all my batteries from napa. I have had decent luck with their legends. Much better than what I get at oreilly's or batteries plus. I do like duralast golds from autozone and have had REALLY good luck with them over the yrs, but I just hate autozone and won't go there just for batteries.

napa takes care of my needs/warranties. When I buy a dozen, or maybe 20+ batteries some yrs, it's nice to buy them all at the same place for warranty. I also find them to be 10-20% cheaper than other places.

I have a honda odyssey that ate up two OEM batteries in 6 yrs that I just replaced about 10 months ago with a napa legend. curious to see how it lasts considering I think the van is hard on batteries.

If costco were closer to me, I might give them a shot with interstate. I bought an S2000 with one it. has been good for this season. I'll be interested in how long it lasts for me and I'll have to see if there is a date code on it

I have a 2000 Odyssey. In 16 years I replaced the original battery (6 years old) and a Costco battery (10 years old).

I found that the hot weather in fl will destroy cheap batteries. Interstates don't last more than 3 years. :/

I made the mistake of letting the guy at the auto parts place swap a battery and a few hours later found myself on the side of the road having to put the cable back on because he didn't tighten the bolt down..

Edit: AAA isnt too bad for prices and they come to you.

Nonsense. Please just tell us your own personal experiences with details because your blanket statement is clearly false.

Literally, this is a car charging system defect so don't state anecdotal evidence (not even that, just a generalized summary ) as fact. A car with a proper intelligent charging system does not need a new battery every two years.

It is a bit funny when people say their car is great but ignore nonsense like this and try to claim it's just a way of life or something. No, that's a terrible design defect in your charging system. It should be given as much weight as any other serious design defect that leaves people stranded.

Walmart, just tape the receipt in a ziplock bag to it prior to installation. Batteries are made by like only 3 companies one of them is Johnson Controls...
