Hi all! I'm new to the forum but I'm a long time visitor.
I've been having some power supply issues and i've decided to get a new one. I've currently got an Antec 430 Watt power supply that is starting to flake out on me. I've been getting reboots every now and again and it does not seem to run well when my CPU is overclocked past 2.53ghz. My sytem starts to freeze and I my monitor flickers at time. Normally, system freezes are the result of heat issues, but my system temps are more than adequate. 29-31C at idle and maybe 42-44 at load. Though I have noticed that my PMW (power modulation) temps are significantly higher which I find strange. I've got a Arctic Cooling CPU fan that works great.
Anyway... I'm getting off the subject. The boys over at the Abit Forum seem to think that Atec PSU's are junk. While I'm not expert on the specifics of power supplies I'm inclinded to listen to what those of you who are have to say on the subject matter.
I'm willing to spend around $100. I can go a tad higher if need be. It needs to be around 500 watts, with SLI compatibility and a dual 12v rail. Here are some of the ones I've been looking at.
We all know that OCZ, enermax and seasonic are great brands, but what about brands like coolmax and thermaltake?
