This Coolermaster B500 has finally gotten on my nerves, and I'm looking for something that's not as loud.

Be Quiet!'s fans are pretty damn good, got two of them in my case and they make a very quiet whirr, unlike the CM fan that came with my Hyper 412s. Spotted this power supply on Ebuyer, and the reviews seem pretty good, but I'd like to know if there are any better (more quiet) ones kicking around, that don't cost an arm and a leg.

Define "arm and a leg". Tell us what you want to pay (and if you want bronze, gold, platinum rated unit), and we'll point you in the right direction.

Below £70 is ideal. I'd prefer the PSU to have 600W for a bit of legroom, but 500W is fine. I won't be using SLI or anything like that, so I don't need 80-odd amps on the 12v. 45 Ought to be more than plenty for whatever I could afford to put in the computer.

Not too fussed about efficiency, bronze would be good though.

What country are you in? What online websites do you shop on for components (Amazon?) Sometimes a solid good value unit in the U.S. is crazy expensive in certain countries.

Never mind. I clicked your profile and see Scotland. So I really just need to know where you like to buy your stuff from?

I found these on Amazon.uk, and prices are definitely higher over there:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Seasonic-S...75?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1498765792&sr=1-75

https://www.amazon.co.uk/EVGA-Modul...91?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1498765870&sr=1-91

https://www.amazon.co.uk/EVGA-Super...6?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1498765945&sr=1-106

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Seasonic-M...8?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1498765945&sr=1-108

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-RM...0?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1498765945&sr=1-110

https://www.amazon.co.uk/EVGA-550w-...2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1498765945&sr=1-112

https://www.amazon.co.uk/EVGA-GOLD-...5?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1498765945&sr=1-115

When looking at Amazon, I sorted them by price and selected certain manufacturers (EVGA, Seasonic, Corsair, and Thermaltake). EVGA, Corsair, and Thermaltake make some low-end budget units, but I did not include them (typically 3 year warranties, low end capacitors, and sleeve-bearing fans). Out of the units I listed, some are over your 70 Euro target price, but I stopped at 85 Euro.

The best units out of the those I listed are over your budget, so you can read the reviews at http://www.jonnyguru.com/ and see if the extra cost is worth it to you. The EVGA G3, EVGA G2, and the Thermaltake have passive fans that don't even turn on until it gets hot or has a substantial load (you can disable this feature and run the fan while your PC is on as well, and it still is very quiet). They are also 'gold' rated and more efficient. However, all of the units on the list are well rated, solid units that should give you years of trouble-free quiet operation.

I normally buy through CCLOnline, Scan, Novatech, and Kitakek. Amazon tends to have meh prices on computer parts, as well as shipping charges.

That 620W Seasonic was pretty well praised by HardOCP, saying that it was next to silent. CCLOnline has it for £65, so a few quid cheaper than Amazon. Think I found the power supply I'm gonna nab, thanks man.

Next up is cases, this shoddy Galaxy 3 case has gotta go.
