Good racing game for the 360 ? Forza?

Im looking for a good racing game, any game where cars go fast

I really liked the NFS games back in the day when I gamed on the pc, now I out looking for one on the 360 \ xbox live

I didnt like the new NFS, is forza the answer ?

Wait for Grid, It's the best racing game that I've seen in a while. Try the demo to see how it is.

Forza is a very good game, but it's also a lot more realistic (read: harder) than Need For Speed and the number of tracks is rather limited.

Grid could be good - download the demo and see how you like it. Otherwise, the Project Gotham Racing series is super cheap these days. PGR3 is only like $5-$10 used and PGR4 is only about $20, so you may as well get 4. The physics are exaggerated to make it easier without ruining the fun (in fact, they sort of make it more fun), the cars all handle differently, and there are a zillion different tracks since they're all created from various road segments from a bunch of different cities, just like in Need For Speed.

I've also heard DiRT is good, if you're into off-road rally racing.

Forza Motorsport 2 is absolutely fantastic if you want a realistic game. Otherwise, go for PGR4 (semi-sim street racing) or Colin McRae's DIRT (off-road racing).

Forza 2 is where it's at right now.

If you like a tad more arcade- PGR4 is an excellent game. It blends fun and "realism" very nicely.

GRiD is a new one coming up. There is a demo up on XBL so check it out. Graphics are phenomenal and it also has the arcade racing feel to it.

I realize these are all repeated suggestions, but thought I would reiterate.

GRID didnt do it for me, I downloaded the demo and tried the "drift" part. I liked the NFS drifting, but this was horrible to control.

i am amazed that noone has mentioned burnout paradise. its definitely not a simulation game. it is most definitely fast. you drive fast, crash into things, and free roam.
download the demo! not a traditional racer, but there is racing involved.

Agreed that the burnout series is a lot of fun. If you want an intense feeling of speed game it's worthy to mention.

and till Grid comes out, that it for the 360 as far as any good racing games may go.

I for one cannot wait for GRiD to come out, if it si anything like the demo its going to kick all forms of ass on many levels, setting the bar higher for anyone to follow, which will mean only good for us games on the console or pc since it is a multi format game. Should see some outstanding games from everyone now thanks to grid over the next few years.

I love PGR4, as Abel007 said it perfectly blends the over the top mayhem of Burnout (also quite fun) and the straight sim aspect of Forza or Gran Turismo.
