Good racing games for PC?

Getting my first racing wheel for PC. Curious what are some good racing games? I've played most of the recent NFS's except the new Carbon one(anygood?). Was looking at rally sport challenge 2. Any other recommendations?

Rallisport Challenge 2 never came out for the PC. Sucks cause I loved the original. Xpand Rally is pretty good.

Yeah I noticed it lastnight. I knew the first was good so I figured they had it for PC aswell. I'll try some of these games.

I have xpand rally for my pc. very good game, graphics are really nice too. Only gripe I have about it, is that your the only car on the track. I wish they would've set it up, so you can race some cars on the track.

another racing that looks good is RACE - The WTCC Game. you can get it through steam.

GTR2 is awesome... Damn realistic... I enjoy it.

NFS Porsche Unleashed is still excellent.

For rally, Richard Burns Rally is very realistic and hard, but is hard to find a place to buy it from. Otherwise, the CMR games are okay. I liked CMR 2 the best, but 2005 seems to be pretty good. It doesn't like my wheel though... was hard to get it configured right. Weird, when CMR 2 had perfect config and force feedback, yet 2005 is much worse.

I haven't played Xpand Rally but it looked okay.

GTR1/2 are good, very realistic.

I got Race Driver 3 and it is very good all-around. Scored good reviews, and there's a lot of game types and active online play.

Live for Speed is a pretty good sim.


For arcade games like most of the NFS games, Trackmania, etc.. I find a gamepad works better. I liked Underground 2 quite a bit, but a lot of people didn't.

I downloaded trackmania this morning, it kinda reminded me of the old game Stunts.

why does a free game like Trackmania have Starforce!?! my download manager popped up a window when I went to download it that said 10 people have complained the game has Starforce and to proceed with caution. I loooooooooved Stunts so much and wanna play this. but I hate Starforce with a passion

I have been playing the crap out of some Flatout2 demo. the demo derby is awesome.

Live for Speed is pretty good.

GTR2/GTL are great. GTL is a must have especially if you like classic cars.

I retrack by statement that Flatout2 is worth buying, I found out it contains StarForce which = screw up your computer.

the demo though is really fun and if they ever release a non-StarForce version I would buy it.

I thought they removed it? I can't remember where I heard that, but I remember hearing about Trackmania Sunrise having Starforce then it being removed. If I'm just remember incorrectly, please let me know .

american version doesn't have starforce

If you can find a copy of Nascar 2003 by Sierra and modify it with the GTP mod, you will end up with one of the most realistic sims available. The mod is a free download as are lots of car skins, tracks and setups. The forums at racesimcentral.com are an excellent source for virtual gearheads like us.

TOCA: Race Driver 3 is pretty damn good with a nice wheel, I use my Logitech Driving Force Pro and it controls great.

I heartily recommend NFS Porsche, fantastic game, and really, really good with a FF wheel. I can't wait to play it with my Logitech G25 (arriving shortly). The wheel support in the NFS series lost its way after Porsche.

GT Legends is another game I'd recommend, the old cars are so cool. I prefer it over GTR myself, there's something so cool about screaming down the straight at 9000 rpm in a little Lotus Elan and having a Cobra or Corvette thunder past and frighten the living daylights out of you.

I'll try NFS Porsche again. Its been a while. I tried some Flatout 2. With the wheel it seems like fun but I can't seem to do worth a crap in the game for some reason.
