if you're looking for a 2.1 system, the Cambridge Microworks are going for about $100-$110 shipped, refurbs sold on eBay by HiFi.com (Cambridge SoundWork's online store). I have a set myself, and they are good! the sub packs a much bigger low-end than the more expensive 4.1 and 5.1 Creative/Cambridge systems.. sound quality is pretty much as good as it gets for the price. i could easily fill my apartment with sound from just the two satellites and the sub! i love 'em. These things retailed for $250 when they first came out in the early 90's, and recently the list price was dropped to $150 i think. You can go to Cambridge SoundWorks stores to test them out..i'm not sure if CompUSA or BestBuy has them on display. HOWEVER, I've never owned the competing speakers, so I can't really tell you if these are better or not, you have to go hear for yourself. But unless you're really picky about sound quality, i think this is the 2.1 system to have. um..no digital input tho. =) but it does have two inputs in case you want to use your mp3 player or discman with it...
