If you're into a really hearty reading with immersive character development and historical knowledge, check out Exodus by Leon Uris.
The ending totally broke my heart... So sad... 640 pages of pure goodness.

Read it long time ago, should I reread it? Read parts of silmarrion but got bored.

No, LOTR was a very poorly written series, more so when measured against modern standards. IMO, the LOTR movies are one of the few cases where the movies were better than the books.
I'm a big fan of Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth saga, almost all of RA Salvatore's books, and I just started reading George R.R. Martin's A Game of Thrones, which is most excellent so far. Lot of shadow political games between nobles in a medieval setting.

Yeah LOTR is kinda boring to read, too much poems and singing.

No kidding. I'd be reading along, then there'd be several pages of Legolas or Aragorn singing.
Harry potter sucks. I cant believe people read that crap. Woo hoo, majic, fairies, orcs, wooow thats sooo great. Bull$hit. 9000000 pages of crap. Its not even teaching you anything or making you think, or engaging you. Its crap i say, crap!!!Originally posted by: zeroxt
So far I've read all of the Harry Potter books over the summer
That book is one of my favorite books. The follow up isn't as good as the first, but the only books I enjoyed in HS were A Separate Peace and Catcher in the Rye.Originally posted by: Bateluer

A Separate Peace
Uh . . . I had to read that in HS. It ranks slightly above the play Our Town as the worst piece of fiction I have ever read.
